But back to Watson (not saying #1 overall. Or even #12, but wouldn't be super fucking pissed. Depending what we do in FA):

The dude played some pretty damn great defenses this year:

Bama - #2 - 420/3/0 - 43 rushing, 1 TD
OSU - #6 - 259/1/2 - 57 rushing, 2 TD
Louisville - #14 - 306/5/3 - 91 rushing, 0 TD
Virginia Tech - #18 - 288/3/1 - 85 rushing yards, 2 TD
FSU - #22 - 378/2/2 - 52 rushing, 0 TD
NCST - #24 - 378/2/1 - 35 rushing, 1 TD
Auburn - #28 - 248/1/1 - 21 rushing, 0 TD
Troy - #35 - 292/3/2 - 55 rushing, 0 TD
Wake Forest - #40 - 202/1/0 - 47 rushing, 2 TD

Total: 2771/21/12 - 486 rushing, 8 TD's ------ I would take that all day for the Browns currently, with Hue's guidance on him. Does he need to improve? Especially on INT's? Of fucking course, but it's not like we are throwing Soda out there or something.

As I said, not #1, of course not. But if the opportunity is there and for some God forsaken reason every single player we truly want gets picked #2-11, you at least have to think about it. But if Thomas, or of course Lattimore/Adams/Hooker, people of that caliber are there, you take them. See if you can trade up later and get Watson if you believe he won't fall to #33. I am not in love with him, but the potential is there.

Or as Keys and others have said, I would trade 2nd rounders for Jimmy. Just not a 1st.

Love talking the draft in January. So pumped. These next few months have to fly.

Thanks to everyone who answered - that's really helpful and good for context.

I just keep hearing the same thing with Watson as the INT's being a negative. I am not sure if I am sold on him yet, but I've warmed to him after a hell of a Playoff showing.

Seeing some of those stats, starting to like him more and more.

Watson, to me, is the best QB in the class ahead of Kizer.

He's got a boatload of starts, understands the concept of throwing into windows and driving the ball down the middle. The downside is, his three years provided nearly identical stat lines and showed little improvement.

I don't really think any QB is deserving of a Top 10 pick this season, but if one gets into that range it will be Watson.

Depending on how the board shakes out, I wouldn't be opposed to taking him at 12.

Pat Mahomes in the 2nd really intrigues me. I know all the negatives, and i hate QB's who played in spread offenses in college, but the talent is so crazy and Hue is supposed to be a magician with QB's.

On the fence on that one too, but he is an interesting prospect.

My questions are based on we do not get a FA like Tyrod or trade 2nd's for Jimmy.......

Are you dead set on taking a QB like Mahomes in the 2nd if we don't take Watson at 12, 33, or trade up for him?

Would you be willing to ride with Kessler for 1 more year then get a QB in next years stacked draft?

Or still take a QB like Mahomes/or Webb in the 3rd and STILL draft a QB in '18?

What are you more leaning towards?

Dont need another Kessler type qb, ie a perfect future backup, so unless a strong armed QB like Mahomes drops I rather punt for a year.

My actually preference is signing Tyrod as it wont cost us anything, taking a Brees like chance on him where he showed flahses in 5 years, but needs the right system.

If we sign Tyrod and Mahommes drops to the 3rd, take him too, I am just so intrigued by him, but no way he lasts that long. His arm talent is just way to good.

I am not in the trade for Jimmy camp. 4 games is not enough for me, and belicheck/Brady backups never seem to work out, unless we can get him for a 2nd or something like that, but i just feel NE wants multiple picks including a 1st.

Here's the thing about Jimmy G: the NFL has always had strange trade values until like a year ago. You get good/great players being traded for like 5th round picks. Now we have this dude play well for a few games, and the asking price is 2 2nds? It isn't anything for or against him. I haven't watched any tape. All I know is that we have a 1-15 team and giving up 2 2nds (with the 1st pick of the 2nd round, mind you) is a pretty bad idea in my eyes.

I would give up 1 2nd or even a 2nd and a future 3rd, but yeah, our 1st 2nd this year and next seems way steep to me too.

And if Jimmy G becomes a franchise QB somewhere else you guys will rightfully be pissed you didn't give up say 2 2nds and a 4th.

There's no doubt in my mind Jimmy will be a top 10 qb.

Top 10 based on what?

And do we really know he is on the market?

Brady is 39, they have Jimmy under contract for 1 more year, then can franchise him for 2 if he wont sign long term before the stupid 3rd year.

I think you are going to have to blow away NE with an offer, I think despite what Brady is saying he has maybe 3 years after this left, probably 2, as Barkley says, Father Time is undefeated.

Jimmy has to get paid next year and Brady still had years in the tank you don't trade Brady. And if you're right Brady has 3 years left that's 3 years of top 3qb play 3 years of being the favorite.

Jimmy has shown elite level pocket awareness, reading the defense, quick release and decision making, and he can scramble.
It's not like we're talking about Cassel here Jimmy was a 2nd round pick. But hey y'all can mock me u just want Jimmy at a place I could go fir him. Sending him to Cleveland to cock block Pitt/Baltimore is a major plus
