Cleveland Browns Select Baylor WR Josh Gordon

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Josh Gordon: 646 Yards, 5 TDS
Justin Blackmon: 557 Yards, 3 TDS
Kendall Wright: 514 Yards, 4 TDS

Not even sure if the others are worth mentioning.

Pretty impressive considering Justin Blackmon had 556 yards and 3 TDs in one of his games, so really he has 1 yard and 0 TDs in his other games :chuckles:

No but 236 and 1 TD from that huge game against Houston really makes it seem like he has had a steady production.

We should have taken Cecil Shorts last year (2011), the guy is killing it.

I agree; however the Browns weren't the only ones who passed on him.. In the 4th round, above 114 (Shorts), three WR were picked before Shorts.

Just makes me mad we have guys that are good football players coming out of the Cleveland area and the Browns don't even seem to know it.

Here's what's missing.

Gordon is going to be a stud. RGIII wanted the redskins to pick up Gordon. That would be scary.

Another good game. He works hard in the off season in the weight room and running routes he could be very very speical from week 1. Get a TE that can challenge the middle and another veteran Wr to go with Little with Ricahrdson and Hardesty, scrap the west coast and we have the makings a good offense next year!

Cdt it's time to change the thread title to Flash Gordon yo

Yeah this kid is a stud and i think he is Heckerts best pick to date thus far, if he continues to excel at this pace he will end up being Best WR in Cleveland Browns History...

I tend to believe he's already on the team. Yes. I'm referring to Jordan Cameron. Don't get me wrong, he's got a loooooooooong way to go, but I think he can become that type of TE sooner than later. He's shown some flashes this year.

On the topic of Gordon. The man is a beast. Pure and simple. I said it the Weeden thread, but I'll repeat it now. If Gordon would have played all last year with RGIII, he would have been the first WR taken in the 2012 draft. He has everything you could ever want in a receiver. Size, speed, strength, quick feet, great hands, leaping ability, and a good blocker. It's crazy to say this, but he's actually in the mold of Calvin and Andre Johnson. It's going to be fun to watch this guy grow.

I think we all get the point, but..

This was the other thing I was thinking about yesterday, and it makes Gordon's numbers even more impressive. Gordon was already at a disadvantage having not played football in well over a year. Then, he was taken in the supplemental draft, which meant he didn't have the benefit of rookie mini-camp and all the OTA's and off-season opportunities that the other rookie WRs did. While Gordon was getting ready to play in the PAC 12, the other guys mentioned were getting ready for the NFL. Those are two vastly different things as we all know. Gordon had less prep time and less field time than all of those other guys mentioned, yet he's still putting up be tter numbers.
