One of the things i was wondering was, on certain matchups, i wonder if Tristan could handle the SF? He seems to have above average foot-speed. It would be a case of making match-ups work for you versus working against ourselves.

I was thinking this last night as well. Like you said, TT has pretty good foot speed.

If we get Bennett, I'd rather not try to turn him into a 3. I'd try to turn him into Charles Barkley.

And I'm not suggesting we try to move TT to 3. It could just work for certain match-ups at times during the game - especially for 3s with a limited perimeter game.

With Bennett likely being able to play a few minutes at SF, and Thompson being able to play a few at C, would there really be a lack of minutes?

The NBA has always been about being a game of match-ups. Traditional line-ups are being seen in the league less and less each season as each teams try and gain advantages. This concept would allow us to gain a nice young talent and continue to keep them both on the floor. Match Bennett up with certain PF's and let Tristan match-up where needed. It becomes like a pick-up game where you don't want a guy to made be taken advantage of, so you place your best defender on them.

In some cases, i think it could work very well.

He's 6'7 240, but is projected to play PF in the NBA? Who is he compared to?

I wouldn't take Paul Milsap #1 in the draft, don't want Bennett

Milsap isn't a totally fair comp, in my eye's. Bennett is a better athlete. Perhaps the same defense limitations as Milsap however.

There is a reason some people are considering him potential the best talent in this draft and it IS NOT because he compares to Paul Milsap. The LJ comp is nice but also off. I don't know who best to compare him with but i do think he's a kid who's talent will shine.

Millsap and Bennett really don't play similarly at all. They just have nearly identical body types.

Bennett has more athleticism and a much more polished perimeter game.

I think Millsap has a thicker body trype than Bennett. Not as quick, but stronger. 20 pounds or so heavier.

Draft Express updated their Bennett video.

Looking at that video , he has the moves of a tweener, especially the outside shot which offensively you can put him at the 3. But the lackluster effert of defense is what would drive MB nuts or make that man burn up in a vat of oil.
Ugh,he shows that "I'll make a lame attempt to jump at the shooter as I whiff by him" instead of closing hard on him.
It certainly doesn't look like he can't play D,it's like he doesn't want to.
Now that could be coached up to a degree but to play D you have to have the mindset to want to do it.

Anyone who thinks he could spend time at SF after watching that needs to get their head checked...he'll have a hard enough time keeping up with NBA bigs, let alone wings.

They should put the weaknesses before the strengths because I don't have the attention span to watch a 17 minute video with the same music on repeat

I agree he's not a SF, but can you explain the bolded?

His speed and quickness are considered to be some of his strengths at the PF spot.
