I see him as a much better Draymond Green... More athletic, better shooter, just a 2.0 version of Green.

I agree he's not a SF, but can you explain the bolded?

His speed and quickness are considered to be some of his strengths at the PF spot.

There's a big difference between speed and quickness. He's a guy with good straight-line speed who's hard to stop when he gets a head of steam driving to the basket. But his quickness, i.e. his ability to change direction and move his feet side-to-side, looks absolutely atrocious.

Again, for a SF, I agree it's not good. However, as a PF his quickness is well above average. DraftExpress specifically cited his quickness as a strength FWIW

This kid is going to be special. At first I was a little worried all he did was dunk. Something they don't say is a strength but seemed to me were:
- motor
- IQ

He was either getting to spots as he was supposed to. Trailing fast breaks at full speed . . . none of those really were broken plays were he just did something spectacular, and I loved him jumping the entrance passes, reminded me of Leonard (when playing well which I think he has, missed second half last night).

He should absolutely be a top 5 pick. The thing with him is I suppose, unlike other guys I don't quite get "upside". It just comes down to how he fairs with bigger stronger guys. He has a good stroke, looks coachable, athletic, finishes high. He isn't some raw project (except maybe on D).

Would love to have the guy. What was wrong with his shoulder?

I'd still prefer Noel, but would not be surprised if he becomes the best player in the draft (if Noel is second best and we have no spot for him I am fine with that).

I know it was a small sample size, but college bigs were running circles around him in every clip they showed of his defense. I don't know if it's lack of effort, poor conditioning, or what, but he looks like a guy who'll give up easy buckets to energetic NBA bigs.

Well, they were trying to show his defensive weakness in that video so it makes sense that he was getting torched. He also made about 25 3's in a row at one point :chuckles:

It's already been established that his defense is an issue at this point, but it has nothing to do with his physical tools.

Saw this NOTE from Article saying to DRAFT Bennett high:

At times, Bennett looks lackadaisical defensively and can show poor conditioning when streaking down court on defense. He’s not always in a defensive stance and doesn’t always look interested defensively when it comes to blocks (1.2 this season) or steals; he averaged less than one steal in his last eight games of the regular season. Even though Bennett is lacking many things defensively, he could prove to be a better prospect than Millsap ever was.

You can teach defense. You can't teach physical gifts. Bennett has a lot of gifts. I just don't see him as a great fit here. But I would not be shocked to see his name called first on draft night. If Lloyd's claim that Grant likes offensive bigs is correct, Bennett certainly fits that description.

The stuff I see from Bennett is easily correctable. He just needs to be drilled with fundamentals defensively. He needs a defensive mindset, which is where Mike Brown would help him out. He needs to take pride in playing defense, and if he does that, he could be a great defender given his strength and athleticism.

Would you trade Tristan for the chance to draft Bennett?

If it were this easy, everyone would be a great defender...

No, and I'm one of the biggest Bennett fans on this board. However, I do think it would be more feasible to find roles for both of them than it would be to do the same for Waiters and McLemore/Oladipo.

I'm just thinking back to the glory days when we have Andy swinging between the post spots as just pure energy on defense and offense. I'd love to see Tristan in that role. (Doesn't mean he'd have to come off the bench btw)

He never said it was easy. It's about buying in, having a good teacher and giving a consistently good effort. Not an easy task at all, but possible.

I'll just reply to your question. I wouldn't.I would trade TT for a explosive 4/5 who would immediately impact the Cavs frontcourt ..and right now I don't see this type of player.

Draft Express updated their Bennett video.

His footwork is excellent on both sides of the ball, especially defending the on the perimeter.....needs to get quicker but the tools and fundamentals are there.

Has Bennett come in to meet with the Cavs yet? If not, does anyone know if a date is set? Really interesting prospect. Seems like he could play the 3 but may have trouble with the quicker players at that spot...
