Commentary Thread - 2020 RCF NFL Mock Draft

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
The RB talent in this class really falls off a cliff now that Akers is off the board.

Aaaaaaaaand @Amherstcavsfan officially sucks.

I knew Lewis wasn’t gonna make it to my next pick and that’s who I was deciding on with my previous pick: Claypool or Lewis.

Sorry dude, but Lewis is the perfect developmental dude for the Raiders. He can develop behind two legitimately good players in front on him and replace one of them in a year or so.

I mean... somehow Edwards-Helaire is still There.

Literally drafted by me. :chuckle:

I have Akers ranked above CEH, but Akers was too redundant with Taylor for me to draft them both in back to back rounds. Edwards-Helaire at least brings something totally different to the table and I feel like you could deploy both Taylor and CEH on the field at the same time more effectively than Taylor and Akers.

You took back to back RB’s!?

Not sure if you saw the Dolphins' RB room but it was, shall we say, hot fucking garbage. My goal going in was to rebuild the Dolphins' offense, and I am walking out of the first three rounds with Austin Jackson, Justin Jefferson, Jalen Hurts, Jonathan Taylor, and Clyde Edwards-Helaire. Got a rookie QB, a big slot receiver for him to throw to, help on the O-line, and a pair of backs whose skills mesh perfectly together.

I was planning to go WR with my third-rounder but basically every guy I wanted that high was off the board at that point. Didn't realize Edwards was still there, though, otherwise I probably would have drafted him instead.

To be honest, if we had done the full draft I probably would have drafted one more RB at some point in the fifth or later with Antonio Gibson being my target. This is a pretty deep draft class, even if there's a lot less certainty after the top five. I also was 100% drafting a receiver later too, probably Lynn Bowden, as he's my favorite sleeper guy this year.

I love the Darnay Holmes pick @jking948 . I thought he would be one of the guys I would be mentioning once this is all done as someone I was taking in the fourth round.
I actually have a pretty high grade on him. He is a guy that will get knocked for his height and for not being ready on day-one. But guys that make plays on the ball and have that degree of speed and are physical are rare as they come. Once they actually learn how to play against NFL receivers then they last a very long time.
