Some of the points of view here are really unbeleivable. Lets put guns in schools. Are you kidding me people? I can't think of a worse idea that that. Litterally I can't.
I admit, maybe my style is a little too pungent for some peaceful people. The days of the wild west and protecting yourself in a gunfight are just too far fetched for some people to agree with.
I am just really saddened that we can't all find a reasonable solution to at least prevent
any of these school shootings to happen in the future.
I mean common people, I thought we were America, I thought we could come up with solutions and be innovative and work our way through problems. We just get so sidetracked in all of the political bullshit nowadays. Our grand parents made it through a world war, a great depression, my parents made it through a nuclear missile scare, we put a fucking man on the moon, we can send a robot to Mars 300 million miles away...... yet we can't do anything to alleviate or minimize these kinds of incidents? What the fuck America, we are better than that!
Tell me if this is reasonable, I definitely think it's a bit more mild than my "every man for himself" solutions
Rather than worrying about Hamas, or Israel, or Syria or anyone else..... Let's worry about AMERICA and Americans first and foremost.
I think any reasonable person would agree that we are spending money out of our ass for issues unrelated to America. Our military spending is draconian, we could cut 25% of our military spending and still have the most powerful armed forces than any other country in the world.
How about we re-allocate our wasteful spending and pass legislature that sees every school in America have a heavily armed guard on staff, in the school building, there to protect our young children, in the event something catastrophic happens.
I just can't help but think that something could be done for the future. No amount of intervention, or school psychology could see something like this happen. I'm not saying that we shouldn't do early prevention stuff at all....We just can't have that be our sole answer to this problem. Anyone can snap at any given moment and acquire a firearm and surprise us all. We need to have hard solutions as well, like trained guards in school that can actually intervene.
Teachers being the ones to take action and fire a weapon is just unreasonable to some people. I understand your concern. I don't think anyone should oppose trained guards being there to be the "first responder" in a situation like this.
I also think all school rooms need to be fitted with some type of panic button that would signal exactly where the attacks were happening. Both teachers and students would need to know how to activate the signal, should something terrible happen in their classroom. If a student wants to be a prankster and set off the alarm, zero tolerance policy, expelled... No questions asked. Make it a criminal offense.
The students wouldn't even need to see the security guards routinely policing the hallways. They wouldn't need to be scared, and constantly reminded that there is a heavily armed guard in their school, they wouldn't even need to see them. Just as long as they knew someone was in the building to protect them, it could help ease the children's worries.
We can collaborate and get creative. Are we still a great country? I think there's still some patriots out there, I believe the power of good still exists somewhere out there...... Are we going to be a great country? or are we going to be this new sorry ass America that can't even balance our god damn checkbook?
