I don't know if I buy it either. However, if Beal drops to three, and MKG is still there, I think they take Beal.

I don't think trading for Ariza is why Wash. would go Beal. If they are going for best player, Beal may just be higher on their board--and he may have been all along. Isn't this why we want Beal? We think he is a better fit for us? I personally have Beal slightly higher than MKG, however I would love either.

Yea, it's just there was no consensus in the mocks as to Washington's pick until after the trade. Suddenly, they get Ariza, and every single mock (as seen above) has Beal to Washington.

I felt it was the opposite; that once they decided on Beal, then they made the trade for Ariza. Its only the analysts who are using the trade as the cause when its really the effect.

Very good point. Why trade for Ariza if you know you are going to be drafting MKG?

Chad Ford is coming out with mock 9.0 today. He says he's pretty confident about this one unless there's a Houston trade.

If they do, they have a tough choice between Michael Kidd-Gilchrist and Harrison Barnes. Over the past few days, it appears Barnes has moved ahead of Kidd-Gilchrist on the Cavs' board. #33 - The Cavs are hoping to load up on shooters and need help at the 2. Jenkins may be the best long-range sniper in the draft. He has a super-quick release and is aggressive hunting for his shot.

#34 - Papanikolaou really impressed a number of NBA GMs and scouts at the Euroleague Final Four this year with his lockdown defense on Andrei Kirilenko. Ironically, the player he's compared to the most is Omri Casspi, the Cavs' current starting small forward. Papanikolaou is a draft-and-stash prospect. He won't be in the NBA for at least one more season.

Beal, MKG, Barnes, Drummond. That's the order I want. If the FO thinks that Beal defends his position as well as MKG defends his, and the motors and drive are equally as impressive, and Beal is a better scorer and ball handler, that means that the Cavs would rather draft Beal. But is Beal alone (33 and 34 too) a better draft then MKG and Nicholson/other picks.
