Basically I am over his attitude. Basically it has stunk since he got here. Everything he says is based on making it to the final last year in Miami.

Today he :

* Did that stupid kick out and was called for the foul. Bravo official.

* Gobbed off to the coach for being pulled after playing awfully.

* Apart from turning the ball over, he took dumb shots.

* His defense is still pathetic.

* His attitude has to a problem within the team.

The punk needs some discipline.

And DREW GOODEN needs to get the hell outta here too..

I shall not be fooled by his occasional great performance... He is our worst road player...

I dont give a stuff if he is "tight" with LeBron. If LeBron is tight with a cancer, you still move him.

but does that make lebron a cancer. :gap:

What does "GOBBED OFF" mean

I have a general idea of what it means. But, is that a phrase that is used alot down under ?

Its sorta a common phrase. It means to mouth off, as I'm sure you guessed as much.

Damon Jones lacks respect and professionalism. Not good for a one trick pony.

here we go again.

I saw that someone finally found away to get rid of that leg kick that he does. If his opponent flopped every time he kicked, they would get the call.

just the other day he was the hero.

I had a dream the other night somehow we got Chris Paul, you know how dreams always have unrealistic things...well he was on the team but he wore number 6 and still had on his Hornets jersey... :(

Exactly. Hit 5 three's in a game and your doing what you were paid to do. Have a bad game and your a cancer.

Where is the outrage over Marshall's performance the past 5 games? He's shooting 26% (from inside and outside the arc) and playing nothing resembling good defense. Of course he isn't flashy so its ok, we will let it slide and let the "Marshall should start" thread slide into oblivion while we are at it.

Fair point about Marshall, Ben, but you have to admit that Jones's personality has been a consistent problem, particularly since Snow beat him out of a starting spot. I think most of us recognized that Jones was a bit of a character, but I wasn't prepared for the pouting and angry words when he gets pulled or for the preening after a three-pointer that sometimes results in a give-away basket at the other end.

Ben....last 5 games? How about last 19 games - 52/155 for 33%FG. 34/107 for 31% 3FG%.

Not that we are getting any consistency out of Drew whatsoever, his up/down performances leave a lot to be desired -
CHI - 0/3
IND- 21/12
CHI- 6/4
UTA- 10/4
MIA- 2/2
DEN- 10/8
ATL- 12/11
MIL- 7/2
NJN- 5/8
SAC- 14/7
LAC- 9/12
SEA- 11/7
LAC- 6/8

Damon Jones is Damon Jones.....and he had a pretty miserable game last night. On several of our three point tries(we were 4 of 17) they had Z wide open down low but went for the 3 instead of the easy 2.
This stretch was a killer-
(3:54) [NJN 68-58] Jefferson Free Throw 2 of 2 (22 PTS)
(3:35) [CLE] James 3pt Jump Shot: Missed
(3:34) [NJN] Robinson Rebound (Off:1 Def:2)
(3:24) [NJN 71-58] Kidd 3pt Jump Shot: Made (9 PTS)
(3:03) [CLE] Jones 3pt Jump Shot: Missed
(3:01) [NJN] Jefferson Rebound (Off:1 Def:4)
(2:56) [NJN 74-58] Kidd 3pt Jump Shot: Made (12 PTS) Assist: Jefferson (4 AST)

The part that kills me is Jones doesnt even bother to try to play defense.

I still like Drew.

But the real problem is this team has no offense and Lebron kills any offense we would really have.

This has been held back for quite some time, I see. We had to wait for a loss to point a big finger at this guy...

His defense has been improving from the first weeks he's been here. You can't deny that. You can say that he gets blown by all the time, that he doesn't move through the pick right or gets stuck at picks... but that would be picking him out as the scapegoat. Larry Hughes got stuck on picks a ton last night, and went the wrong way around the pick leading to an open 3 by Kidd.

One nice thing I noticed about the defense: even though Larry got blown by Carter, once he got to the rack, he was swarmed by Z and Marshall, and he forced a tough shot. And it happened 3-4 times in a row down the stretch. That really impressed me, that the interior defense is slowly improving and the opposition's penetration effectiveness is decreased.

Golden Boy Donyell Marshall hasn't been living up to his billing. He hasn't been making shots. He still pulls down boards, but his defense is lackadaisal at times. His consistency will return eventually. But Karma's argument now would be that he doesn't complain about it. Yep, he's quiet and silent, which is sometimes good, doesn't disrupt team chemistry.

His shot selection is poor at times, but it definitely isn't at the level he was at the first week he was here. He had 1 bad shot, which was the one mentioned in this thread. The rest were clean looks that just didn't fall.

I don't see how Damon's reaction to reduced minutes is such a bad thing. It's a sign of frustration, yes. Should you want him to just put his head down, and sulk for the rest of the game? Or for the rest of the season? All athletes have to have that competitive spirit, having faith that their skills will help the team. He has not stooped to the level of a Jeff McInnis yet.

The situation as it is definitely is not ideal. But picking scapegoats and pointing fingers makes the situation much worse. This game will be a good indication on where Damon Jones stands in Mike Browns' eyes. I'm sure he's getting crap at least because of that stupid leg kick.
