Daniel Gibson: Thug Angel

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Re: Cavs looking to trade Daniel Gibson?

It's not like he is on his rookie contract anymore though. Is a second rounder a fair return for a prime Manu Ginobili?

I'm confused....are you saying boobie is like a Manu in his prime? boobie at his best is about as good as manu at his worst.

I'm saying a high 2nd rounder and/or something else is worth it from a team perspective (one who needs a shooter off the bench for a playoff run).

Boobie's value is low right now; IMHO, we should have traded him a few years ago if we really wanted to get value. So, we'll look for the best value and I'm sure a team or 2 will be interested...but for how much, I have no idea.

Re: Cavs looking to trade Daniel Gibson?

The contenders can offer him 3ish million, or the mini MLE, we could offer him 4 million, and beat them out. I don't think you understand that for some reason, but the MLE is not the same as it used to be. If he wants to walk let him walk he's not worth more than 4 million tbh.

What he is understanding is turning Gibson into a asset, and I agree. Do not let Daniel play it out here, he is an trade waiting to happen.

Re: Cavs looking to trade Daniel Gibson?

Boobie himself is a 2nd rounder. Let us remember that.

If you can get a high 2nd rounder and then some, that is acceptable.

Now AV on the other-hand.....

That logic makes absolutely no sense. Where a player is drafted is meaningless when you're trying to calculate their value, especially when they are veterans like Gibson (who, by still being in the league, has already surpassed the expectations from where he was drafted).

I'm not saying Gibson is worth a first-rounder, but rather that it's dumb to assume he's only worth a second because that's where he was drafted almost a decade ago.

...Was also drafted in the 2nd round and is a perfect example that you shouldn't judge trade value based on where people are drafted, but by what he brings to the table & how much demand their is for it.

I'm not for keeping him, or Andy for that matter, but if all we are going to get back is some 45-60 pick then it's not worth the hastle of taking on salary. If we can get back a first then absolutely do it.

Re: Cavs looking to trade Daniel Gibson?

Boobie's contract is expiring and he provides a replaceable skill to the team...If he wants to resign for a lower price OK....but if he walked, I dont care. Hes worth more than a contender's 2nd. But not worth a 1st.

Its time to trade Boobie Gibson

He no longer fits into this team. He is a half court player. He i shooting the ball well but thats about it. his pick and roll defense is atrocious. he is getting schooled in isolation. The game is too fast for him.

I like Gibson. i think he is a solid player but he doesnt seem to fit on the court and Scott gives him more responsibilities than what he should have.

He doesnt have any chemistry with Gee and one of them has to go.

Re: Its time to trade Boobie gibson

Yeah, no. What do you get for him? A contender would give up a 2nd for him, or in other words a player that will never be as good as Boobie. Still young, still one of the best shooters in the league, his defense is much improved, he is a solid presence around the young guys. Seems like a good message to the young kids that "Hey, if you do everything we ask of you and more, give 7 years to the organization, always talk about how much you love the team and the town, well then you're getting traded". Keep him, he will always be useful as long as he can shoot the 3, everything else he adds is just gravy.

Re: Its time to trade Boobie gibson

So the Cavs, who are obviously not in contention this year anyway and already have a serious lack of production offensively from their bench, should trade him just to trade him?

Sounds good to me.

Re: Its time to trade Boobie gibson

Kinda jus wish he would give Kyrie his jersey number already

Re: Its time to trade Boobie gibson

Boobie doesn't care anymore, I'm dead serious - He's just worried about keeping his family setup, he moved ALL OF THEM out the hood down here.

He and his Wife are getting paid regardless, he's got his paper and his family is out the hood - MISSION COMPLETE

I won't lie... I'm East Side born and raised (Fairfax) - I don't blame him lol Hell, I'm working on getting my Mother, Sister, 3 Nephews and 1 Niece down to Houston once I land that "BIG" job.

Re: Its time to trade Boobie gibson

9.3/10 would read again.

Re: Its time to trade Boobie gibson

Well you're not really gonna get squat for him, cause he's simply not valuable or really any good...

Re: Its time to trade Boobie gibson

who cares about his trade value. he is in the last year of his contract. Im not so sure the Cavs resign him anyways.
