Daniel Gibson: Thug Angel

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Re: Its time to trade Boobie Gibson

What's the point then? A young, rebuilding, non-playoff team is not going to trade for him. So, you're going to trade him for a contender's second round pick? A pick that is likely in the 50-60 range? We don't need picks like that at this point. We have a roster full of guys like that, plus an entire DLeague franchise devoted to guys in that mold. Whatever you think of Boobie, he's worth more than that. And if he leaves and doesn't want to resign at a reasonable price....buh-bye, Boobs.

Re: Its time to trade Boobie Gibson

All I'm saying is, we better not trade the guy, because I really don't want to have to put in the effort of coming up with a new name. Also he better not sign elsewhere.

Fuck that.

Cavs should keep him because you can see how much this team is struggling offensively...I wouldn't get rid of one of our only decent shooters. Also, the guy at least tries on defense, on a team where the rest of the guys are lost on D most of the time. He provides more good than bad, especially on THIS mess of a roster, and he's not expensive. You might as well keep him.

Re: Its time to trade Boobie Gibson

if we get rid of him, we're gonna need another 3 and D guy..so why even bother?

Re: Its time to trade Boobie Gibson

Isn't there already a "trade boobie" thread around somewhere?

Re: Cavs looking to trade Daniel Gibson?

Think it is time for the Cavs to move on from Boobie whether it's trading him this season or not re-signing him after the season. A contending team in need of a 3 point shooter may give up a late #1 especially since this draft isn't considered real strong. You might also get a young player not getting minutes for him instead of a pick.

Not sure if Gibson still deserves the great shooter rep that much anymore either. His career FG% is .407 and his 3 point % was .351 last season and is .368 this season. His 3 point shooting has been trending downward the last few seasons too. Guy is always betting hurt and every little bump and bruise seems to throw his shooting off too. Might be best for all parties to move on.

Re: Cavs looking to trade Daniel Gibson?

Boobies man has initiated the pick and roll 35 times. they are converting 45% of those attempts. the pand roll ball handler is converting 14 of 25 shots.

this is horrible. if they get into isolation 55% score rate. if they get past the perimeter they are going to score.

somethings wrong here and it needs to be fixed. its especially dreadful when gee is on the court with boobie.

maybe ts in the switching or how gibson attacks screens. I dont know but something needs to be done. boobie appears to be part of the problem not the solution. if they arent going to resign him then they should move him. ots almost to the point the Cavs are better off having Casspi or CJ out there.

Scott either need to adjust to allow boobie to be more effective or move him out. the lineup doesnt show any more or less discipline when he is on the court.

You know, Boobie hasn't played in such a long time I've actually forgotten that he's still on the team.

Re: Cavs looking to trade Daniel Gibson?

Boobie would thrive on the Nuggets. They moved two very good shooters in Harrington and Afflalo, and Iggy is a LeBron type shooting guard who thrives handling the ball.

Re: Cavs looking to trade Daniel Gibson?

The cavs will probably lose gibson. I guess for a 1st round pick I'd trade him. I don't think a second round pick is worth it. Gibson is a very good shooter and the cavs lack depth as it is. Would rather not lose any talent.

Would love to get Fournier or Hamilton, I think we could send them Andy and Boobie for a good package.

They have the Knicks unprotected 2014 first round pick. Just sayin'.

Re: Cavs looking to trade Daniel Gibson?

At this point Gibson is not worth a 1st round pick. Would have to be a package deal and I don't think the Nuggets are interested in Andy.

I'd be surprised if he's worth a top 40 draft pick.

Gibson's contract becomes guaranteed in 4 days. His "trade and waive" value might be higher than his "trade and play" value.

Of course there are two other teams (PHX, HOU) that are far enough under the salary cap to absorb salary without sending anything back, so I'm not sure that Gibson has a lot of "trade and waive" value either, since luxury tax teams will likely wait until the deadline before they start paying teams to take contracts.

I would think Gibson still has enough value as a catch and shoot 3 point threat to get a very late first round pick from a contender. Perhaps with the Clippers if Billups can't return.
