Amazing that this late in the season, well the season is basically over, that Blatt has still been tuned out.

I honestly thought he had made inroads and had begun to win over the players....

Guess I was wrong?

You are wrong if you think Windy is actually basing this on anything besides baseless gossip.

Why is that?

Every other day, Windy comes up with a new theory of why the team is disfunctional. This shows that he is clearly biased. One thing that happens when you are biased is that you see everything that proves that your bias is correct. So while Windy is watching a game he will notice every small incident that proves him right and give those incidents a large amount of significance to reinforce his point of view. He will frame those events in the form of a narrative and share it with others, further proving to himself that he was right all along. People get heated during games and confrontations are bound to happen. Thus, you can always find ways to reinforce a negative perspective.

There is no real good reason to think that the team is as disfunctional as the media is trying to portray. The team has the best record in the league over the last few months and the team is mostly playing excellent basketball and playing as a team. That should be enough to show that the critcism is unfounded in the case of the player/coach dynamics.

So windy is biased against Blatt?

And he didn't say the team was dysfunctional he said our team doesn't respect the coach and that lebron calls the plays.

I'm just trying to understand your counter argument here.

Yes, I believe so. I'm writing on my phone and I need to sleep as it' 4 am and I have to work tomorrow, but I will try to find you some articles when I have some time that prove the point. He does infere that the team is disfunctional by trying to show that Blatt and Lebron don't get along.

Has anyone seen what Windy is talking about? I find it hard to believe that the success is despite Blatt. The fact that they play so much better after a practice is my main evidence. The team also looks better when they play the team way the coach says instead of the iso way favored by Lebron

All you have to do is watch a game to see the whole "LeBron calls the plays and Blatt tells it to the rest of the team" is bullshit. Grab a rebound or a shot goes through, Blatt yells out a play, then Lebron (or Kyrie) makes a hand signal to everyone else, and then it is run. We don't do this 100% of the time, as I am sure Blatt lets them just play if things are going well or go 1-on-1 or pick-and-roll when he sees fit, but if we need a bucket or the offense is stalling or he sees something they can take advantage of, he always calls out a play.

We also have video breakdowns from various people dissecting the Cavs offense and the plays they run, most recently the Memphis game, and they were all plays I saw while watching how Blatt's Maccabi teams ran their offense.

I know its a little conspiracy theory like, but Windhorst works at ESPN. A certain former coach who has been linked to the Cavs ever since he changed to LeBron's agency for representation also works for ESPN. I'm certain the 2 of them have discussed Blatt and Windhorst is running with what he heard from him. And if we disappoint in the playoffs, this will only get worse.

I don't know about his ingame play calling or timeouts/rotations, but one thing I've noticed about Blatt is that his game planning (how they want to attack matchups, how to defend the other team's top players, etc), is very, very solid. It's one of the few things that the big three 3 are and him are usually cohesive about in the postgame interviews.

Does anyone know who'se charge of the gameplans ?

Windhorst can definitely get things wrong. He reported first via twitter that Paul George was set to return as soon as the next day. He cited "multiple sources" for this. I picked up Paul George on my fantasy team after seeing that and it was discovered later that George still had no timetable to return. Who were these multiple sources? If he can be wrong about that then really we have no idea what he's going to be right about and what is just speculation that he backs up with these unnamed sources.

If Windy is pissing everyone off why don't the Cavs just cut his access?

One thing I just have to add. Doesn't really relate to the current news, but I went back and looked at some tweets, news articles, etc from the summer when Blatt looked like he was headed to GS to be Kerr's lead assistant. People all over NBA circles were calling it genius, etc and talking about how great a coach Blatt is. Yes, it was to be an assistant, but people act like the guy has no business being involved with the NBA.

The comments on the Deadspin article make a good point about a very unsettling undercurrent of Anti-Semitism to all of this. I mean......it's just not happening. They are making this up. I don't know if it's because Mark Jackson is pumping this bullshit out to Windy or what. But I've never seen a guy coaching the current best team in the NBA continue to be on the receiving end of all of this manufactured BS. Something is wrong here.

Deadspin is a liberal hack site. They're probably blaming Blatt for the Israel-Palestine conflict over there.
