I think that's exactly why Blatt didn't get voted higher- the slow start by the Cavs and losing record with LBJ out despite having Kyrie and Kevin probably had something to do with it. We all know the roster was severely flawed at that point, but they were really in a dark place at that time despite having 2 all stars. Like other posters have said, I think that post-season will do a lot for Blatt's reputation, and if they get the number 1 record in the East with Blatt next year, I'm sure he'll get a lot more votes (or win).

I don't think he should be voted higher... Bud and Kerr were absolutly amazing this year. Just don't get how did Theabudu had a better year...(according to the media)

Hope people stop whining about Mozgov not getting minutes late in the 4th claiming bad coaching, with TT playing like this on the boards its pretty easy to understand.
No one complained that Blatt left TT in against a bunch of scrub bigs, it's when we play teams with legit size or when we're getting eaten up inside that people complain about that.

TT will work this round, none of their bigs are great rebounders, and they don't put a lot of pressure on you at the hoop. But will it work against Noah & Gasol? Or with Derrick Rose driving into the paint? It's Blatt's job to get it right, and if he doesn't, he'll hear about it.

I really liked Blatt's comments after practice today:

I think it was the stupid Ethan Skolnick (not sure if it's really him or not, but the voice is very similar, and Skolnick made the same comments during the game in his twitter acount, so i'm guessing here) that brought up the perception that the Cavs are winning solely based on their talent, and that they're not putting the amount of effort that the Celtics put in, and Blatt just smashed his stupid comment and defended his guys, he sould've added "Get that weak stuff outta here".

Those questions about talent vs effort are downright embarassing. Whoever brought it up should quit and go work in a shipyard.

I know we've faced adversity in the Love injury because of that bitch Oylnk, but unless LeBron is lacking a gun underneath a towel while in the bench and forcing Blattto play James Jones, he should get ZERO burn in meaningful minutes. The ONLY thing he can do is hit threes but he's been abysmal of late (7-37) He is one of the two or three worst defenders statistically left in the playoffs, he gets abused on the boards (look at all those ORebs he gave away), and as soon as Blatt takes him out, lo and behold, we go on a big ass run.

The Moz/LeBron at PF/JR/Shump/Kyrie lineup did really well. TT/Moz/LeBron/Shump/Kyrie to close after Blatt took out Jones did really well also.

No fucking Jones. There's only been a handful of games in which he's been a net positive. Reload the Matrix, play big, resurrect Miller, whatever. Just don't play Jones.

I really doubt that Matrix is healthy and in good shape, Its mind boggling to me that he wasn't in today if thats not the case.

I have no issues with him playing Jones. Jones has done well in some of the games. But sticking with him when he couldn't shoot even if his life depended on it was just poor on his part. Jones without the shooting is basically useless. At least put Marion in and look to get some stops.

We're going to see how good a coach Blatt is now in the coming series. I wouldn't bet against him.

I must say that in euro league when things are heating up between two players - the coaches usually take them out to chill a bit.. I thought that the dead response from the refs alongside stevens encouraging crowder to play that way really made me angry and the game extremely unsportsmanlike. Its peoples health out there and what are they fighting for? So that he (Stevens) will be remembered as a coach that doesn't back down? I really thought highly of him before but after today i think he is truly a narcissistic douche. I would have never imagined blatt having to make the decisions he had today (perk).. And for him to do so is a real 'no other option'. Sad day all in all imo.

Gilbert needs to go all "Mark Cuban" with the League.............in private.

Coach's thoughts after the game:

- Hopes Olynyk's play wasn't on purpose.

- We lost two starters during the game and we still managed to control the game. And the game could've ended a lot easier down the stretch if not for some... "controversial" plays.

- We played a very good team and we swept the series. So we did showed good poise and fortitude.

- By nature of the fact that LeBron came back and Kevin joined and the team getting a lot of attention, every team we faced this year gave us their best shot. That has strenghtened us, made us tougher mentally and physically. And the Celts are no different. It was a sweep but it was not a walk in the park. We battled for this. We're coming out stronger.

- We prepared for Isiah and defended him and done a better job as the series progressed. Forced him into tough shots and made him work really hard.

- Iman gave us a HUGE game tonight. He was all over the court. He is underrated as an offensive player. He does not get a lot of looks in our system, but he did a great job when he was needed. Played a lot of minutes and was the X factor in our victory.

- Asked if through all his years did coach ever see a player defended by a player standing out of bounds. Blatt says "yeah, I've seen it, it's an automatic technical foul overseas, I don't know what they call it here."

- We changed covers on IT, made adjustments throughout the series and tried to not allow him seams and splits and easy shots.

- Regarding Kev's comments ("bush leage" etc.) - if that is how Kev feels, than you know - he was the closest guy to the incident. This game is beautiful and it is a physical game but there is a line and that line shouldn't be crossed and that's what the league is for.

- If Love's injury is long term otehr guys will have to step up, just like tonight.

- The biggest challenges about the Celtics - they play very hard, they are very well coached, they move the ball and run their sets consistently and they also have talent. That's enough to challenge you.

Blatt is going to have to trust guys like Miller and Marion. Or at least give them a shot next game.

I know to Blatt they havent done much this year. But they have playoff/championship experience.

I got a bad feeling Delly plays close to 30 mins next game though.

Do you guys think that Blatt stood up enough for Love? When the ESPN reporter asked about the KLove's comments, I thought Blatt could have been more supportive. Something like:

"I didn't see the play but I trust Kevin..."

I dunno. I think it would put pressure on the nba to get shit like this under control and also built an us against the world mentality in the team.
