Do you guys think that Blatt stood up enough for Love? When the ESPN reporter asked about the KLove's comments, I thought Blatt could have been more supportive. Something like:

"I didn't see the play but I trust Kevin..."

I dunno. I think it would put pressure on the nba to get shit like this under control and also built an us against the world mentality in the team.

That is pretty much exactly what he said. That's essentially what everyone on the team said as well. Where the play happened you wouldn't be able to see it as a player or coach on the court. Blatt's exact words "I didn't see the play, but if that's what Kevin thinks, he was the closest guy to it".

And it was Rachel Nichols from TNT, not ESPN.

I hope he goes back to pulling LeBron at the 6 min mark as well.

Cant risk LeBron/Kyrie both being on the bench. No matter the plan playing LeBron all these mins he's going to ask out so we dont want to risk it while Kyrie is need of a breather himself.

Bring in Marion. Pull Kyrie at the 3 min mark and bring back LeBron.

No he's not. These are the playoffs, and he played his fewest minutes of his career in the regular season for this exact reason. Get used to seeing LeBron out there for 40+ minutes a night, barring blowouts or foul trouble....what hes been doing his entire career in the post season.

With all that said..

he asked out of the 1st game of the playoffs against the Celtics. He's human. He's 30. He gets tired.

He was able to power through last game because it was a close out game. Why do you think they were reporting about his cramping issues today.

Right now he's at 43 mins. The last time he played that many mins was 2011. He may choked, but he also was very fatigued the finals as well. This was when he was 26.

Its going to be a slow death if LeBron ends up playing 44 mins a game. You'd rather he be fresher in less mins than playing too many mins with no lift.

If I'm wrong, awesome. That means LeBron truly turned back the clock and morphed into Miami LeBron from a couple years ago. But now we have to smart and spell a few mins here and there.

Look man, I'm with you, I'm all for playing LeBron less minutes. But you are asking for that at the worst possible time. He's going to have to play more now with the suspension to JR and Love's injury. He's going to log a shit ton of minutes in this series against Chicago, and we will see if resting him so much during the regular season with help balance out him playing more in the post season.

And he wasn't athletically worn out in 2011....he just wasn't good enough.

I guess part of the reason I was upset because I truly thought there was no way he'd be playing 43 mins just for us to beat the Celtics. Even if you take away game 4. It was still 42 mins a game. But you're right, predictably he will probably have to play 43+ mins...

Its as I theorized in the LeBron thread. He goes strictly ISO in the 4th Qrt because he's tired. He wants to shorten the game and get the best of himself. I just have a bad feeling about a tired LeBron resorting to ISO. You're right he wasnt good enough in 2011. But he still was tired as well. Ultimately, I'm not sure LeBron is what he was a couple years ago and we're asking/needing him to play more mins.

But I get what you're saying. Just gotta hope for the best and get through this $hit storm otherwise known as the Bulls. :chuckle:

Blatt played him 46 tonight because he knew they'd have a week to rest before their next game. Wanted to make sure they locked up the series today.
If the Celtics werent so busy injuring us, Blatt might have tanked the game today and tried to buy us some more time and use up one of JRs suspend days, but I think he probably figured hell, if this series keeps going were going to lose LeBron or Kyrie next.

Its not about the fine. Its about the refs. If you come out and criticise them publicly all that does is risk losing whatever gratis you have built through the season with then. Evidence would suggest they are easily swayed and incredibly important to the fate of a game so you have to do everything possible to make them work for you no matter how much you despise them. Essentially they are that douche doorman at your favorite club

Some related news, outside of all the commotion -

Coach Blatt's son, Tamir, who plays for the Israeli National U21 team as well as for Hapoel Tel Aviv in the Israeli Premier League, was invited to this years NBPA Top 100 camp.
The Top 100 camp is a basketball camp in which the top 100 high school prospects take part. It helps them improve their skills and helps scouts assess new prospects.
Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love are alumni, for example.

So good luck to Tamir Blatt :)

mavericks had a good game tonight.

Its only one series, and against an inferior foe, but I liked Blatt's rotations and demeanor for the most part so far.

I laugh every time they cut to him on sideline and he's straightening his tie. Reminds me of Rodney Dangerfield and his "I get no respect" schtick.

Which is kind of apt given the media treatment this season.

He actually said that in the post game presser - "I feel like Rodney Dangerfield up here"
