You have to pick your poison with a team like Chicago. If you don't give up Gasol at the midrange, you give up Rose inside cuts, which are statistically a much higher % shot.
I think that was the right call by Blatt, Gasol just outdid himself. He will not keep shooting like that.

I think overall Blatt did a good job adjusting and circling through different setups until he found what works best.
Keep in mind that 2-3 better decisions by LeBron and we win this one.

Yeah, but make these calls during the game. If Gasol is killing you from midrange, you adjust and give up the drives. You gotta be ready to give the offense different looks on D and it keeps guys from hitting rhythm, which they def did tonight. Kyrie also had to do a better job of staying on Rose and not giving him space. But this is Kyrie we're talking about here.

I think Blatt did as well as one could do considering the team currently only has 5 ( Lebron, Kyrie . TT, Mosgov, Shumpert) consistently good players active .

Marion, Miller, and Jones are basically deadweight. Delly is okay but only for short stretches, and Harris is too inexperienced.

I thought Blatt underperformed in this one,
But sadly this loss has one big LBJ stamped on it.

Terrible Depth, the defense displayed by Miller and Jones was making my eyes bleed.

He's gotta call timeouts a little earlier to stop runs. When they tied the game at 53 and the Bulls scored 5 quick points, I was yelling for a time out. 5 quickly turned into 12 and pretty much sealed our fate. Yeah I know they got within 2 but it takes a lot of energy to over come leads and you can see they didn't have much left down the stretch.

Every other coach calls a timeout after we score two baskets. Chicago scores 15 straight points and we can't get a fuckin timeout? Unacceptable. Totally unacceptable. I'm a Blatt fan, but that needs to stop, now.

There were definitely mistakes made and lessons to be learned. I just don't think the decision to gamble on Pau's midrange is such a controversial one as it is made out to be.
Blatt took his chance with it, and should've mixed it up a little. But I can understand the decision.

Again, 2-3 better LeBron posessions and it would be a completely different conversation. I think with the personell we currently have, Blatt did a good job preparing the offense and the guys at the most part bought in and got good results. JJ got some great plays drawn up for him, the guys executed perfectly, but he couldn't connect on wide open shots. We played Moz and TT together pretty well and had them screening each other before screening for Kyrie, which scrambled the D and got Ky a ton of good drives. Shump was used very well.

Blatt did a good job all things considered, IMO. Of course no one is mistake proof and sometimes you gamble and lose. But I take a lot of positives from this game going forward.

blatt is just wasting his talents here with lebron, what a pussy, chilled half of the season, get rested and guys like rose with a history of injuries plays harder than this weak-minded punk, what a waste

I might have lost a few brain cells throughout the years but I would love to see Perkins next game. I'd shoot myself in the foot before watching another overhelping smallball lineup. That helped spark the 2 15-point leads of the Bulls.

I've got to watch this game again, but the numbers defensively don't look good. I feel like the Bulls were getting what they wanted for the most part. Every time they got into our defense and created an open shot, they would hit that button repeatedly on consecutive possessions for a spurt of points, which meant we could never recover to take the lead from that horrible start.

We'll see what Blatt is made of in the next game. We've been told by those who have seen him that these are the times that he pulls out rabbits out of hats. And it wouldn't surprise me one bit.

In this particular game, we chased those Dunleavy (a guy who shouldn't have even been in the game) points the entire night. I don't think we can afford to have Miller start again and perhaps should go with Marion. In any case to be in a game like this despite your own shitty shooting and the other team making everything WHILE playing a completely different game because of being short-handed is quite commendable. The players dug down, got a few stops and fought like hell. Blatt never seemed to be phased even on the brink of a blowout.

Those Gasol jumpers off the high pick and rolls killed us and sapped our energy even though we made a valiant comeback. Interesting that Mozgov didn't get more PT as he was one of the few with a positive +/-.

Considering what he was working with, not too bad and I hope for better. LeBron has to play better, Kyrie has to put up some more defensive resistance, and our guys have to make open shots.

With JR and Love, this is a 4-1 series and the next a 4-1 or 4-2 maybe. Just fucking sucks. As great as the GSW's starting lineup has been, ours was the 4th best in the last 15 years and made us a virtual lock for the finals. Makes me fucking sick. Fucking Oylnyk.

Blatt IMO needs to be quicker on the trigger with timeouts. We don't have the margin for error to withstand extended runs from the opposition.

Also the Bulls were milking Rose on the P&R with Gasol like crazy. We have to adjust the way we are playing that. Will need to watch the tape again but might just be better conceding the jumper to Rose and going under the screen.
