Always your excuse for some of the most unreadable posts on the board. You've taken Tornicade's crown.

uh...

I had to explain to you how profit makes a company valuable to you less than 24 hours ago.

I wouldnt criticize people's intelligence if I was particularly stupid. Then again, I'm not a 14 years old.

We wouldn't be having these conversations if Smith had stayed as hot as he had been. Blatt has shown time and time again he goes with what works at the time, something i have commended him for tirelessly. He is the anti-Brown, which couldn't make me happier.

Perkins? GS beat us because they went small. Perkins would've looked like a fool out there. Don't get me started on Miller. We kept telling ourselves "just wait till he gets in game shape" He looked no quicker at the end of the season than he did in the beginning. It's been reported Marion and Blatt butted heads quite a bit. In his first year as an NBA coach, he could've caved or stood his ground. He chose the latter, which i think will pay dividends this year. He's beginning to gain the respect of our players, which is huge to overall team success.

Injuries and tired legs lost us the series. The fact we even had a chance was a shock to me. Throwing Miller, Marion, and Perkins would have maybe helped with the exhaustion but don't act like they would've actually contributed in the +/-.

Agreed,
the only bad thing I had to say about Blatt during the finals was the fact that he completely ignored the Hack a Iggy option (.415 lol), which imo would have gotten their best player/defender off the floor and allowed plenty of rest for everybody on our team, also slowed tempo way down which was a lot better for us vs that pace and space offense.

imagine the damage Lebron would have done if Iggy was not guarding him the entire game ....

I dont think we win the series no matter what because of the injuries. And I 100% agree on Perkins, looked to have no usefullness for us especially when we went small.

But, playing Marion at the 2 was weird, he was a 3/4 hybrid his whole career and really couldnt play the 2 what so ever, and Miller looked to be a decent option at the 4 and a better option than Jones as Miller had the weight to stop some of the post ups.

I think Blatt had some learning to do and i hope he will be much better at NBA basketball. Hiding Jones at the 4 kills the defense.

Does anyone know if Marion would have even been able to play? He played like under 2min one game I think against the hawks and made an impact. I would have much rather seen him in the game than Jones or Miller. I know he can't hit a 3, but then again who did against Golden state. Totally agree on the hack an iggy thang. They did it to Tristan.

I didn't feel like arguing with an idiot. Profit and value are NOT tied to one another. Profit may influence value, but it has no direct connection.

Perfect example: The Cavs could have the exact same profit next year as they have this year, but if LBJ wasn't on the team the franchise's value would be cut in half.

On the other hand, the Cavs could be losing tons of money and still have a high market value because of supply and demand: there are so few teams for sale, and so many Billionaires would love to own a sports franchise. Therefore valuation is far more complex than cooking the books with profit.

Your explanation was unreadable and I didn't feel like arguing with someone who can't even write a readable sentence.

Change the topic to "David Blatt is a former NBA coach and is apparently now an accountant".

Pretty nice writeup on Blatt by Dave McMenamin. There's a lot more in the article here:
http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/13978110/david-blatt-ready-year-2-cleveland-cavaliers

"Even Blatt joined the injury list, recently undergoing surgery for telangiectasia -- a genetic problem that causes capillaries in certain parts of the body to break -- to address frequent nosebleeds.

"I've been working all week, but I was really supposed to be off all week," Blatt said. "But I worked."

It's the same approach he took last season in the face of much scrutiny.

"I don't look at things in terms of what kind of shake I got or not," Blatt said of the critics calling for his job l when the Cavs stumbled to a 19-20 record. "I went out and did the best I could. I had a lot to learn. I only realized it after I went through it, honestly, because I had had so much coaching experience beforehand as a head coach. But it was a different environment and things were and are very different. That's the biggest realization that I came to.

Blatt bristled last season at any mention of his "rookie" status. But he willing referred to himself as a "first-year coach" in a wide-ranging interview.

"I do feel a lot better, I feel a lot more comfortable," Blatt said. "What I went through last year, I don't know if anyone has ever done it before. And I made my share of mistakes. I went through my share of trials and tribulations. I grew from it. I learned from it. I came through it, I think.

"I coached numerous places, but they were very different places than the world of the NBA in almost every respect. Man, it was tough. It was tough. Like I said, sometimes I handled it better, sometimes I handled it worse, but I think I'm the wiser for it and I'm definitely more comfortable for it."

Well, he's saying the right things.
But people aren't going to be judging this head coach based on his interviews.

Nailed it. My expectations below.

- Navigate all the injuries while still playing high level basketball. Esp on D.
- Figure out a way to get the ball more to Love. Pre and post Kyrie.
- Decrease LJ's minutes to under ~33/gm

I think this is the year where the players will implement more of blatts philosophy. If i recall correctly before the injuries happen, in the boston series we were moving the ball better and we looked 10x better than what we did throughout the season. So im super pumped for this season.

I think its going to be a little ugly early on. Lots of ball movement and players a bit rusty will lead to turnovers. For all the ugliness and simplicity of last years offense the 1 thing it did well was attack the rim to generate open shots. Hopefully the cavs will run leborn and love into the post to get the same kind of open looks without as much effort
