DeMarcus Cousins

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
If, BIG IF, Sac is really interested in trading him.

I wouldn't say no to a trade to LA if I were them, but its going to cost more than just that second round pick, that's for damn sure.

Asking price should be their second pick, Randle, and an unprotected pick.

It's true, Orlando could offer an enticing offer, but I'm not sure if I'm Sac I'm wanting to take back any contracts. And from the sounds of it with Rudy Gay, they're not looking to take on money.

I rather draft a big man with the second pick, have him on a rookie contract, get another promising one in Randle on rookie contract, and an unprotected draft pick, that's likely a lottery one, that could be a number one.

Steep price? Yeah, it is. Would the Lakers be willing to bend that far? Depends how desperate they are to get a star there. I think they might.

But we set the bar last summer, when we traded the number one pick, previous number one pick (okay he stunk, but still), and another first round pick for a guy on his last year contract, that's not a center, with a team that supposedly had no leverage.

Sac is going to ask for a shit load for Cousins, and they'll probably get it too.

I don't think they should trade him, but what's going on in Sac is very interesting. If they were ever to trade him, now would be the time, just at a value standpoint.

It's possible Cousins is going to just walk anyways, given how bad it sounds in Sac.

Obviously George or Cousins has to go.

Well, first of all, the management isn't asking for anything. They aren't going to trade him no matter the offer, I think.

Second, it's George Karl wanting the trade and it surely isn't to dump salary. He's wanting to trade Cousins in hopes he can get back players to win. My guess is that supposed Lakers offer that's been tossed around doesn't do shit all for Karl, and why would it?

Third, there haven't been indications at all that they aren't looking to take on money. The whole thing about Rudy Gay being on the market was to open cap space to sign Rondo. And they aren't doing that, btw, if they're trading Cousins. The entire purpose of that move is to help Cousins.

Two teams that, I think, have the ammo to get something done that most people aren't mentioning. Orlando and Utah. If Utah were to offer a rebuilding team say, Dante Exum+Rudy Gobert and this years draft pick, that's a pretty solid haul. Same on Orlando's end if they offered up Vucevic+Aaron Gordon and their pick this year. The Lakers problem is they are lacking that extra young player. Randle hasn't proven anything, so he's basically comparable to Exum or Gordon, with varying degrees depending on how you feel about each of those players as prospects. But add in a guy like Gobert who showed out the second half last year or Vucevic, and now Sacramento has a prospect + a proven young commodity with (hopefully) lots of room to still grow and a lottery pick.

And I think that's the type of deal it will take to get Cousins (plus the necessary throw in contracts to get salaries to match). A really good draft pick, a proven young commodity, and another top end prospect. That's more than Minnesota got for Love (draft pick + young prospect), but Cousins has more value due to the fact he's under contract for multiple years to come.

And still, are either of those offers enough? Cousins has the talent to be the best center since Shaq. There is no reason he can't eclipse Dwight Howard at his peak. So it might take even more. If I'm Orlando, I do it. I put Cousins with Oladipo and try like hell to keep Harris and see how far that takes me in the East. If I'm Utah....I'm a little slow to move Gobert. But Cousins has sooo much talent and the ability to be a truly dominant center on offense that will completely own this league with it's lack of good big men. How does our resident Kings fan feel about those deals, centered around those players?

And, really, Cousins shouldn't be traded at all. There is maybe only one player in the league that I'd move Cousins for and that's AD. Other than that, he's the type of player you build around for a long time to come, not the type you move out of town.

Hmm...considering I wouldn't trade Cousins for anyone outside of a very select few players this is difficult for me to answer. But I'll play hypothetical if the Kings were in firesale/rebuild mode.

The Orlando package would need to be sweetened a little for me. Gordon is a raw talent and I feel you'd need a better sweetener with Vucevic besides the pick. The Pick is about right so no comment there. I understand Oladipo and Elfrid are offlimits most likely as those two are building blocks. I also don't know if Orlando wants to give up on Gordon so quickly when they invested such a high pick on him. I may be biased here but I think Orlando would need a third team unless Harris is involved. Just my opinion. I'd need more than Vuc, Gordon, and a pick.

Utah would need to offer more than that for me to be intrigued and stay on the phone. Rudy Gobert and Exum have made strides don't get me wrong but I don't feel them + a pick is enough, even with Gobert's defense. In my opinion they haven't proven enough to me for me to consider them a great package for Cousins. Its something I'd think about for sure as there is some young talent there plus a pick. If they improved even more in 2015-2016 then you could ask me again. I don't know how Utah could sweeten the deal more, but I just don't feel its enough at this time. The Magic offer seems stronger to me.

Even then I don't know if that'd be enough as you said Cousins has so much talent...he's only 24. People like to say Anthony Davis is only 21, its scary how talented these two are.

Interesting. Me, personally, I'd rather do the Utah deal. Has to do with being so high on Gobert. But who knows, maybe the last half of the season was an aberration.

Depends, but I'm obviously biased so I may have a different mindset on his value than you do. *Shrugs* I do agree Gobert has shown major flashes, but I'd need to see if its more than a spark you know? Just my opinion is all, with another season of experience I'd probably be more comfortable with the Utah offer, but I see your side of the coin so to speak.

Well if somebody you hate texts or calls you, you ignore them... Maybe that's just me.

yea, if you're in the 7th grade lol

in any normal job you would get fired pretty quick for ignoring calls and texts from you're boss...

I agree with you. Cousins needs to stay if at all possible.

Bah, I don't answer my phone for calls or texts from my boss unless I'm actually working. Not a salaried employee and therefore, if I'm not getting paid, I'm not discussing work.

Seriously, Sacramento's front office must be filled with fools if they're even considering trading away Cousins. Centers like him don't come around too often. He can face up, bully you to the basket, pass as well as any big man in the league, rebound, and defend at a high level. Honestly, I would say the only players in the league with more value than Cousins at this point are LeBron, Durant (although his recent injuries do hurt his case), Davis, Curry, and maybe Harden.

No offense to Kings fans (I sympathize with you guys based on what we Cavs fans had to endure the past 4 years before this one), but I hope Cousins goes elsewhere so we can see him truly shine.

If I don't like you, i'm not talking to you. I haven't talked to my boss in 3 months... What is the point in wasting energy on people you don't like.

I still say Karl gets fired, and Boogie stays put.
