Destiny

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I looked into the 'exclusives'. Playstation isn't getting expansions a year ahead, the dlc that was available at launch (different ship skins, a crucible map, a specific strike, and an armor set for each class) are exclusive for a year. There's a solid chance they'll do something similar with the expansions, but it's not nearly as exclusive as everybody cried about at first.

I really don't see an incentive for Bungie to make the expansions console-exclusive for any period of time. Even if Sony pays them a lot of money, they'd be potentially killing their Xbox fan base, which seems like a stupid thing for a company to do with a new IP.

Expansions are designed to keep people coming back to a game after completing it. If you remove that option for half your install base, there's a good chance they'll move on to other games and forget about Destiny when the expansions finally do release a year later. Just a bad business move, especially for a game that's made a ton of money.

I heard that there will be DLC for both consoles in December.

I got my first Legendary yesterday from farming the loot cave for about half an hour. A pair of gauntlets from a blue engram. Not bad.

My favorite part of farming the loot cave is when hundreds of Hive baddies randomly spawn out of nowhere to do battle with an army of Fallen. All of a sudden I start getting shot from behind and turn around to see about twenty different enemies all trying to take me down. I think this happens once an hour. It's not an actual public event, either. There is an event that happens there once an hour as well, but it's different from this one. This one is just an all-out brawl between the Hive and Fallen that turns farming into absolute chaos.

^^^ That happened to me a lot when I was farming the loot spot in the Barrens on Mars. Out of nowhere I would have two huge armies of Cabal and Vex Majors and Ultras spawn out of nowhere and just destroy me repeatedly for about ten minutes. :chuckle:

Yeah, I would just jump onto the roof of the nearest building and peg enemies from relative safety. It kept me alive both times I got caught in the middle of that fight. None of the enemies seemed terribly interested in coming up there after me, even when I was shooting them.

By contrast, I'd have them ALL turn their attention on me at once instead of killing each other.

Also, managed to randomly get my first Legendary weapon after a Crucible match. Not sure why they gave me a Legendary engram, but I was happy when it turned out to be a sniper rifle. The difference between it and others is like night and day.

I've gotten a couple of legendary engrams and only gotten blue items from them, and then randomly got a legendary item from a blue engram.

This game's loot system doesn't make a damn bit of sense.

Not arguing that one. I hate the higher leveling system in this game. Just seems like a cheap way to force players to dump a ton of time into a game to reach the level cap.

Also, doesn't make a damn bit of sense that weapons don't grant Light bonuses, either.

My main issue is that there seems to be little incentive to playing higher level content because you're not guaranteed better drops. Bungie should be giving players a reason to play the harder content, but as it stands you have as good of a chance of finding great gear shooting into a cave for an hour than you do playing a strike on an impossible difficulty level. That's just dumb.

I'd also like to see more mission variety. Give me some damn puzzles. I've heard the raid has a few of those, but I'm still at minimum three levels away from being able to tackle it, and realistically I'll probably wait until 28 or 29 (and I've got friends in town from Thursday to Sunday, so the soonest I'd be able to do it is next weekend anyway). It's just disappointing that literally every mission in this game is "walk to X and kill Y amount of enemies." There is absolutely zero variety.

Finally got all Legendaries and Exotics this weekend. Hopefully i'll be able to get the Shards so I can level my gear up to the cap by the end of this week.

There's no incentive at all. You're better off just grinding low level enemies on the Moon or doing Crucible matches. Only argument for facing higher level enemies is that the Ultras and Majors drop stuff you can exchange for glimmer on occasion.

Well, The high level day and weekly missions give you strange coin and there is a higher rate you get Shards and Energy which you need to level up legendary gear, same with the weekly raid which also have more legendary gear and chests

Bungie came out and patched three of the glimmer farming locations - Shrine of Oryx, Sword of Crota, and another one that I can't remember at the moment.

Now if only they could increase the frequency of rare/legendary drops a bit people wouldn't have to resort to farming in the first place.

You don't have to fix drop rate. Fix that stupid fucking Cryptarch. Level 9 Cryptarch, I still have NOT GOTTEN ONE FUCKING LEGENDARY OR EXOTIC. As it stands now, 280+ blues another 75+ legendary engrams. NEVER PURPLE. ALWAYS BLUE OR GREEN.

Fucking cryptarch cocksucker.
