I am EAGER to get back to the gym, after the past couple of weeks.
This past weekend, we had our big fitness competition/fund raiser at our FD's training center. It was called the 343 Hero Challenge, and all the proceeds went to a local children's burn camp. I was one of the two main organizers of it, and going up from 70 to over 100 participants this year definitely increased my workload....and took up all my available workout time!
Here was the events (mens weights/ladies weights); they were back2back2back with 1-2 min rest between events:
1) 3:43 of step-ups, while wearing an FF turnout coat and a hose pack (43#/30#); score was # of step ups completed
2) 7minutes: 60sec holding a plank with a 45# plate on back, 1000m row, and the remaining time complete as many shoulder-to-overheads as possible (135#/95#)
3) 15x deadlift (315/225), burpee, lateral jump, then 50ft bear crawl, roll 50ft of 5" fire hose, carry hose 50ft, 23 goblet squats w/ 70#/53# kettlebell, and 50 dummy drag 250#/200#
4) (separate event) Kaiser sled FF prop, followed by firesled FF prop
Apprently, the event made it all the way to the LA Times this morning, but here is the local coverage. I walked around all day long, in a War Machine costume, as the MC for the day lol.
