For those who are trying to do the low calorie thing, I have been using an app on my iPhone called "myfitnesspal". I entered in some basic data and it gave me a goal calorie count to lose a certain amount of weight per week. For me, I'm losing 1.5 pounds per week keeping myself at or below 1,360 calories per day. Combined with working out at least 4 days a week, I've seen results and it has only been a month or so.
1360 is ridiculously, wickedly low. If I did that, I'd lose a lot of weight in a short time and then hit a wall (what happened to me last time I did a cut, I leveled off at 172 and couldn't reduce without dropping below 1000 calories a day, which is a bad idea). What is your height/weight/age....
Reminding me of days of A/S/L :chuckles:
I'm 5'8"/24/161. Body fat is like 14.5%. My weight bracket is from like 138 to 162. I want to get to a lean 150-155. I started around 166 about a month ago.
These guys good to go?
.....but seriously.. they good to go?
Thanks for the advice fellas.
Another q, if I'm trying to lose fat, should I still drink a post-workout shake on days I'm doing cardio or just on weight-training days?
Nothing wrong with a shake after running, actually it would be better to include some simple carbs in it since they go straight to refueling your glycogen stores. One of the very few times that simple carbs are a good thing.
Also holy crap at 1360 calories a day. Dude I promise you, you could eat over 2k calories a day on a low carb diet and lose weight.
My roommate struggled with losing weight for a long time, he went on a high-carb, low-fat diet for a year and he was miserable. Then I met him and Showed Him The Light and he was so much happier and lost weight just as effectively.
