Griffin also said during Wiggins' press conference that he fits well with our ball dominant guards. He didn't say that he fits well with Kyrie, he said guards plural. He also said that Wiggins will reach greatness as a big 2, not that he is a big 2 now. I don't think he has the refined skills yet to be a two guard, although in the future he could and that's will when he will be great. This is how I took the press conference.

Yea, and I've said this before but that's a shot at those two by Griffin. About 10 different ways you can put that that don't sound nearly as bad as "ball dominant guards." He's been sending signals ever since he got the interim role.

I think they need to put the Spurs games 3/4 at Miami on loop on every TV in the Cleveland Clinic courts for the entire off-season.

We won 33 games. Party time! Happy days are here again!

And we won 24 games a year prior. I don't know about you, but I'd call that an improvement. It wasn't the massive improvement we were all hoping for, but in the end it worked out for the best, as we got Andrew Wiggins out of the bargain.

I'd expect a similar improvement next year.

I see no reason why Waiters still couldn't push 30 minutes a game between PG and SG, even with the addition of Ariza. Ariza is going to strictly play the 3. Wiggins will split minutes between the 2/3.

What do you want to trade Waiters for? There is absolutely no point in dealing him unless it's for a bona fide all-star. You don't just throw away a talent like Dion because he "doesn't fit." You give Blatt and chance to figure out the backcourt dynamic, along with Lue who the Cavs were obviously impressed with for his vision of the backcourt. Worst case scenario, you put Dion as the 6th man and have no worries about the 2nd unit.

If you can rob someone at the deadline involving Dion, then you might consider it, but talk of trading him for anything right now outside of Love is asinine. He's not "good as gone" simply because of one Griffin statement that he wants to get longer and more athletic.

But i dont think he wants that.

Portland won 33 the year before last. In the East, there is no team that is not a candidate to turn it around like that(besides the Sixers and Magic) this year. With a coaching overhaul, no bynum, a full roster from the get go, further development from out young players and a few additions in FA, we are set up to make that kind of jump.

No way to the sixers turn around yet maybe next year

Here is his shot chart post all-star break when he averaged 19.3 ppg on 46/38/71.

Why do people think that Wiggins is going to start over Dion? This isn't Kyrie or Anthony Davis walking in, Wiggins is unlikely to be ready for that role for at least year or two and the last thing you want to do is throw him to the wolves. Bring in a guy like Ariza and Wiggins will be the one getting back up minutes at 2 and 3.

Wiggins is ready to start from day one due to his athleticism and defense. I would be beyond shocked if he didn't start and play significant minutes. Unless we make a move he will likely start at the three though.

Wiggins might not be Davis or Irving, but Waiters isn't exactly entrenched as the starting SG either. He's no star, and there have been chemistry issues with Irving.

Wiggins shouldn't be on the bench. Milwaukee laughs at putting Jabari on the bench. You start them guys. They are not PG's or nothing, let them run the floor.

Dion is a 6th man.

Dion is a better player than Wiggins period. Maybe someday Wiggins will be better, but he isn't exactly touted for being NBA ready.

That shot chart really is amazing for a guy that can basically dribble to anywhere on the court that he wants at any given time. ~2 months isn't a horribly small sample size, but hopefully he can pull it off for a whole season.
