Dion Waiters

I think Brooks has taken the right approach to Dion. If he is in a shooting slump, its better to get him to work on his finishing skills at the rim. It can push his dribble drive skills that will make him a more effective player. If Dion focused on dribble drive aspect of his game more than the step back inside the key, they end up with a better player. Hopefully Brooks can drive in the idea of taking high percentage shot to Dion and it will round him out to being a consistent player, curbing in him being so hot and cold.
 
Dion starting at Shooting guard tonight. Roberson is out 2-3 weeks Waiters might end the season as his team starting shooting guard for the third straight season.

Word from the Thunder is Waiters had a "stomach issue," and is fine to play. Looked like he was just late coming out of the locker room.

I guess the team couldn't waiters for him to finish
Russell Westbrook can run point, so I guess he's just practicing for more minutes at the No. 2 slot.

This is a really crappy way to lose out on playing time. If he keeps this up, the team will flush his minutes down the drain.

Hopefully Brooks is finally getting through to him.
 
Seems like his style of play just needs to be beaten out of him with repeated failure. At some point he can't blame it on the team, system, or coach anymore. Maybe he's finally starting to realize that.

Good for him. Seriously. We already won our side of the trade, so it's not like I'm rooting for him to fail. I've made fun of Dion a lot but I honestly think he's a good kid and I want him to succeed since he seemed to really like Cleveland and the fans. He could be a solid player if he just attacked and stopped worrying about drawing the foul and instead actually worried about finishing the shot.

Boy does that kid get a lot of air under his shot. That arc is sky high. Body isn't squared up. Fades back a bit on the jump and his feet go forward for no clear reason. Still, I guess it looks good when it goes in.
