Dwight Powell - F/C (signed)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Here’s a site I found with a new draft formula, it seems to be the only one now that Hollinger and shutupandjam are no longer doing there’s publicly. This combines advanced stats and eye test, it’s pretty cool.

Also it looks like this could be good news for Wiggins and Powell judging by previous years rankings.

Forget about adjusting to the NBA... I think he is going to struggle for the Charge this year.

If we need to make more room on the roster for more free agent signings, I think it is a safe bet that Powell will be the guy getting cut, along with Felix.

Surprised at how inept he looked out there.

I realize he didn't get the practice time that other guys did with the whole trade situation but the guy looked terrible out there.

Easily the first guy to be let go if we need to do that.

Why do so many dislike Felix? He's the SL team's best rebounder. He is always around the ball. Gets the team more possessions. Rugged defender unlike some of the vet wings the team has brought it. Great attitude according to Max and others. If Wiggins is moved, he clearly has a role. Plus he has a guaranteed contract. Could be salary filler in a trade, but hope they keep him.

Unfortunately, "combines advanced stats and eye test" is code for "started out as advanced stats, but the results made no sense so I moved a bunch of players around to make it look reasonable"

Harris is the guy from our SL team I want to keep. He seems smart on the ball and looks to have a reliable jumper.

And the Cavs paid $2M for that pick. Note the pick before was sold for $1M. Looks like a heady move.

They paid for Brendan Haywood's tradable 10 million dollar expiring next offseason, let's be honest here...

U think we will take on another 10M in salaries with the cap issues we will have in 2015? doubtful

What cap issues? They have been under the cap for several years. The repeater tax won't be much of an issue in 2015. The only problem with that expiring is that they can't use it right now. :chuckles:

So if Powell is a liability.... we basically have to cross our fingers and hope that Varejao makes it through a season?

I see what you mean. He could certainly do that. But why would he have guys like Jordan Bachynski, Adriene Payne, and Deonte Burton, two of whom weren’t even drafted and played horribly, if they played at all, in summer league ranked over lottery picks such as Stauskas, Randle, and Gordon? Also Al-Farouq is ranked pretty high for being maybe a role player, why wouldn’t he change that? The rankings do look somewhat accurate and helpful though. I think you’re just being skeptical to be skeptical.

I think we will know more about our C situation once the Love drama has fully unfolded.

Still expect us to add some sort of C via FA or trade.

It's the primary reason the Cavs traded for Haywood, and they've already discussed the value of those contracts for the future, including in their pitch to LeBron. So, not doubtful at all.
