A dispute over the last piece of fried chicken turned violent in Houston this past weekend. Police say several witnesses saw the fight, which began over the last piece of homemade fried chicken. Apparently, there was only a drumstick left and the two roommates began arguing. The two then went outside to fight when one of the men was stabbed with a steak knife. Both men were Cuban and shared the apartment with three other men. According to HPD Homicide Detective Fil Waters, “There was a single drumstick in the pan. … You can’t script this stuff. It’s someone getting killed over a piece of chicken. Pretty tragic.”
Man arrested after a brawl breaks out over chicken wings in Publix
An argument over chicken turned violent at a Publix in Temple Terrace, Florida. According to reports by WFLA, the disagreement began after a customer became rude while ordering chicken wings from the deli. Raleigh Harris, 59, yelled at the female deli worker and used the N-word. Another deli employee told Harris to calm down, but that only made him more irate. Harris yelled at the other employee and told him to mind his business. Soon, a brawl breaks out after another customer, Leon Lightbody, began fighting with Harris.The melee continued until several Publix employees stepped in to break it up. Lightbody was eventually arrested and charged with simple battery.

Man stabs and chokes girlfriend for bringing home pizza instead of chicken

A Texas man is accused of stabbing his girlfriend after she brought home pizza instead of chicken for lunch. Michael Corsey, of Waco, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, The Waco Tribune-Herald reported. According to police, he stabbed his girlfriend with a kitchen knife because she brought home pizza when he had asked for a chicken sandwich for lunch.The police also stated that the woman was also choked and hit in the face. Despite the violence perpetrated against her, the woman only suffered minor injuries, according to the police report.
Woman attempts to kill brother who ate her barbecue ribs

BBQ ribs were the cause of a family disturbance in Austin, Texas. According to KXAN, the incident occurred on the evening of Sept. 27 when Ethel Jean Banks, 61, came home and was hoping to eat her leftover ribs. However, when she began looking for the ribs, she discovered that they had already been eaten. Banks confronted her brother and the two began arguing. Her brother admitted to eating the ribs and their argument soon became physical. Banks pushed her brother and he pushed her back which caused her to fall. When she regained her balance, Banks stormed into the kitchen and grabbed a butcher knife. She lunged at her brother and reportedly told him, “I’m going to kill you!” Out of fear for his life, Banks’ brother ran from the house and found safety at a neighbor’s home. Banks told her brother that he would be locked out of the home and he eventually called police. When police arrived, they recovered the knife used by Banks in the attack. She was eventually arrested and charged with aggravated assault for family violence.
