Fallout: 76

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Only in this game you won't lose progression and your shit wont be raided when you go to work or do other things.

Right.. again, I think this game is pretty much a torn-down Fallout 4, set in a new map, with human-controlled people going around tearing shit up.

This notion that there are no NPCs though ... that might mean I hold off on buying this game.

So, we know you can pack up your base in a portable device known as c.a.m.p. My guess is you scavenge the land looking for parts to build up your base, craft weapons, and al ot of the good stuff will be in dangerous areas, where you can team up with people, or fuck them over sea of thrives style.

Probably.. but.. what'd be the point?

Like, the fun of a survival game is to survive.. In this game, Howard calls it "softcore" because, well, it's not actually true survival .. like you said, if you die, you're fine, you just respawn. So, what're you guys actually doing other than going around killing monsters in the Wasteland, earning caps from bounties (killing monsters in the Wasteland), or killing others in PVP?

I dunno... this aspect seems stupid. If there are no NPCs and the game servers are limited to 24-36 people on a map the 4x the size of The Commonwealth, then what's the point?

The point is for fun and it's going to depend on the user to create a lot of the content. read @Jack Brickman sea of thieves tales.

Also, perhaps they can have a hardcore mode? Like Diablo, when your character dies, that's it.

There will be NPC’s and quests? It just likely won’t be in the form of an all inclusive fall-out 4 type campaign...

Think ESO type as opposed to elder scrolls, even though this is not an MMO.

ESO has NPCs though. They give you quests and sell you stuff. They mentioned no npc's for this game other than monsters, ghouls. It's up in the air whether this game will have quests. I read somewhere about an overseer handing out some tasks.

It definitely has quests.

He said in the press conference you can quest alone or with friends.

Yeah, I don’t expect it to be the main focus though. It certainly isn’t eso. I think it’s more akin to day z or rust with some quality of life adjustments set in fall out universe.

I'm just not a huge fan of the survival genre, assuming this is going for something similar to Rust. I had fun with Rust for a while, but eventually you tire of always spawning with nothing and always having to deal with PVP assholes. I don't mind it so much in Sea of Thieves, but the mechanics are such in that game that PVP is very avoidable if you're smart and capable. In games like Rust, you're basically constantly forced into it and everyone tends to act like a total cunt.

Same goes with DayZ. It got tedious constantly having to make your way back to the base whenever you died because the map was so fucking huge, and it was annoying that all of your shit could be looted whenever you were offline. It sounds like they might be fixing that here, so I'm in wait and see mode, but I really wish they'd either just make another single-player Fallout or just add co-op rather than full online.

If they could realistically pull off a full out Fallout game with online and NPC’s as well as other players in the game and a main story, side quests, play with friends or alone etc it would be absolutely incredible.

Yeah, im not expecting a full story co-op thing. If you want that, check out dying light and keep your eye on dying light 2. The full campaign can be played in co-op. It has quests, a story, crafting weapons (mostly melee).

In this game you pack up your base and re-deploy. You also dont lose your progression. So your shit isn't destroyed when you leave.

Bethesda can barely pull of a single-player Fallout without an army of modders fixing it for them. No chance this game is playable the first week or two.

There are no NPCs in Fallout 76 from my understanding. "Everyone you encounter in this game will be another human player."

It definitely has quests.

You can quest alone, but there isn't anyone to give you a quest.. so you're likely getting them from a terminal or your PipBoy, which .. would be garbage.

Yeah but Fallout > Dying Light.... That shit ain't Fallout!
