Farewell Kyle Korver

JR bounced back after his horrible finals. I have hope for Korver. Defensively he didn't seem like a problem against them to me. He just didn't make shots.

Defensively, he did quite solidly except when he was being asked to guard KD for few moments. Korver also had those couple of poor And-1 fouls but that can be sorted as he is a smart basketball player.

JJ got a 1 year deal for more money to do the same thing Korver does, this is a great deal for the Cavs.

Contract is very player friendly. This is probably more than hes worth to us in alternate universe where we have assets to replace him but 7 per is definitely not a bad number seeing as were most likely moving on from Shump, Frye and Williams very soon.

After JJ Redick made 23 million, I fully expected a team to give anywhere between 10-14 million per year to Korver.

Full offseason should help a lot.

Plus he needs to get healthy.

Ever since this moment last season, he just wasn't quite the same guy for us.

Early and mid Feb he was practically giving us a Big 4 with the numbers he was putting up.

I like the deal. Korver can't be easily replaced and is valuable for the cavs. Also he keeps in shape and if he doesn't suffer a major injury I fully expect him to play on a similar level for the next 3 years.

We've got to replace 3 of those guys with 3 guys that can play against the Warriors.

I know Frye couldn't play against them in 2016. I wish he got a legit shot in the finals this year. However, if we're not going to play him we need to find a way to move him and Shump as well.

Jefferson at his age should just be a spot duty player.

Some are worried about the contract due to Korver's age and I get that.

But you have to remember players like Korver, Ray Allen, Reggie Miller, Jason Terry etc can play till late 30s because of how their game is based on. Also, Korver is known for his excellent workout and fitness regime. He would be fine the next couple of years imo.

Shump + RJ + Frye for Melo.

Get someone like CJ Miles or Mbah a Moute or Sefolosha for MLE and Tony Allen and ZBo for Vets Minimum!

That would be a very solid damage control!

If the Cavs coaching couldn't figure out how to use Frye on the court. that's on the coaching not the roster.

Looks very similar to the Livingston deal. Seems fair to me.

Let's get one thing straight though, Korver is a better defender than Shumpert. Shump is the better ISO defender but he is so outrageously fucking stupid on anything remotely off ball that he more than makes up for it with his horrendous team defense

Korver is just better than Shump all around so see ya Shump you meme loving fuck and just gotta hope Korver doesn't choke all over himself again next year when we need him most
