Farewell, Richard Jefferson.

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
If Richard Jefferson and Gary Barnidge start dating, it would be the greatest event in the history of the city of Cleveland.

You thought getting the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame was huge, just wait till the officially announce Jefferidge as an official couple.

Lakewood would be coated in a constant permafrost if this happened. Tissue sales at Giant Eagle would go through the roof during the NFL/NBA overlap.

Barnidge would whittle a canoe out of an oak tree and paddle out on his private pond to enjoy a nice little picnic spread with Richard right after the Finals.

Isn't Barnidge always dating some WWE chick?

Or is it a glorious ruse?

I am so turned on by this thread right now.

I met Richard Jefferson back in 2000 at Frog n Firkin in Tucson and he was a super nice guy back then. I was lucky enough to talk to him a few years ago while I was covering Lute Olson's retirement and it was a pleasant experience once again. I've chatted with him a few times on facebook since then as well, so when the Cavs signed him, needless to say, I was really stoked. I haven't talked to him directly since then, but it's my understanding that he feels re-energized playing for this team and enjoys Cleveland. I really hope he keeps it up because he really is one of the nice guys in the league and he's definitely busted his ass this offseason to prepare for a title run.

Love him already! Knowing Cleveland luck his legs will go around May time *sigh* but great signs so far.

Great start for RJ so far. The season is long though, so I hope he sustains this.

Admittedly, I haven't watched him closely since his early days with the Nets. I am surprised by how he transformed his game.

I didn't really think much of this signing when it happened, deeming it just another over-the-hill vet that wouldn't contribute much. However, based on the first two games, RJ may be as big a component of our success as Mo towards the end of the season.

Through November, 15 games, last season Shawn Marion was playing 21 minutes a night, averaging 5.1 pts, 3.4 rebs, and shooting 46% from the field and 47% from three. All while fairly effectively covering shooting guards. I know he really fell off, but early last season Shawn Marion seemed like a decent signing too.

I expect Jefferson's shooting will hold up better as the year goes on, and I give a thumbs up to the homoeroticism of this thread, but it's a long season.

Don't agree... James Jones actually had a lot of solid games last year and filled his role well... The others however...
Although Jones is a complete nightmare defensively. Jefferson is still a pretty decent defender. Based on that, I see no real value that James Jones can add to this current team.

James Jones is Depth and a vet presence in the locker room.

At this point the only completely useless roster spot i see is Joe Harris.

Exactly. With this roster, JJ serves his role perfectly. The Cavs fixed the bench issue, so what we need from James, he will provide. We're good. At times last year he looked a bit rough, but came through for us in the playoffs. If we didn't have him, we'd have been even more screwed.

People act like our 12th and 13th best player should be all star level.

A vet who can hit an open 3 when called upon but is ok not playing at all is the perfect 13th player on a team.

Those stats really are not that impressive. The percentages look good but how many 3pt attempts did he even take?

Can you please add a punchline to this?
