Farewell, Timofey Mozgov

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
If he could just develop a consistent 15-18 foot shot like Ilgauskas used to have he would be KILLER. He is a good FT shooter so maybe he can do that...

I'm more like, can you imagine how sick he would be if he put on like ten to fifteen more pounds of muscle? Moz can be a very scary goon. I'd like to see him spend a lot of time in the weight room this summer.

If TT and Moz were the same age and I had to choose between the two of them...I'd go Moz all day.

With TT being so much younger, honestly...that more than his effort would make it a question for me.

I'm glad it's not my decision.

That's what I'd like to call shoplifting. At least hope so.

A boner would cause him to faint.. the picture represents something biologically impossible to happen

Given that the luxury tax line rises to 108 million for 2016-2017 and 127 million for 2017-2018, I'm not sure why we've been seeing a lot of posts saying that if we sign Tristan for 15-16 million we won't be able to re-sign Mozgov next year.

I don't make that assumption at all and don't see why anyone would with any certainty at this stage.

SLAM: What was your first sport?

TM: Everybody plays soccer overseas, in Europe. Soccer is big, and it’s easy. All you need is a ball. After school, you can just put two bag packs and play.

SLAM: What position did you play?

TM: Oh, I don’t know because I was worse. You know, I still can’t even catch the ball. [Laughs] I’m working on it though, trust me guys.

SLAM: What’s been the biggest adjustment coming from Russia?

TM: Here, people do business first and sometimes they end up [having] a good relationship, but everyone understands it is business. The problem for Russians, I think, people understand it is business but not everybody. Somebody will keep trusting in a relationship but when time to split money comes, they don’t understand. “Now you say this, you said that!” Here, they know business and they know [what’s] friends and good relationships. Here it’s OK, there [it’s like] you are betrayed.

I remember lots of Russians were pissed when he came over to the Knicks, like he betrayed his team over there. The message boards were merciless.

No way man. God I'm tired of dudes not even 30 getting torched on this board like they're fucking old. He's not 35! He's not even 30. Did you see anything in his performance last season that would indicate that he's anything other than a fairly quick and athletic big? I don't think he's going to drop off a cliff at his "advanced" age.

Spoken like a bitter old man who just left his prime. :chuckle:

I'm sorry, but Mozgov is a fucking beast. If Kaun is a true 7 footer who can dunk too, it's going to be lob city this year especially with the addition of Mo and RJ.

Kaun is not nearly as athletic or mobile as Mozgov. Kaun will be great as a 4th/5th big, but he is not a starter in the NBA. This is not a put down of Kaun, i am excited to be finally getting him, but just a reality of what he brings.
