Farewell, Timofey Mozgov

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
What the fuck...

My thoughts exactly. I love the Rotoworld interpretation, like they know what the fuck they're talking about. It affects everyone differently. Hopefully it's just preventive cleanup.

Timofey Mozgov underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right knee on Wednesday, and he's expected to make a full recovery in 6-weeks.

Arthroscopic surgery really isn't that big of a deal, and he has plenty of time to recover to be 100 percent for training camp. Mozgov averaged 10.6 points, 6.9 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game with the Cavs during the 2014-15 season, and he'll make for a quality late-round target in next year's drafts.

A debridement procedure is a procedure to remove dead tissue...nothing with ligaments, nothing with cartilage, nothing with bone...why are we worrying about this?

That dead tissue typically comes from tears in the meniscus or cartilage.

So whatever it was Mozgov had done, he now has less meniscus or cartilage tissue post-surgery than pre-surgery in his right knee. That, coupled with how unexpected this was, is kind of strange. Was this affecting Mozgov's lateral ability?

Yeah, I know, but it doesn't mean its completely torn through, which I think is the case here. Most debridement surgeries are on frays on the outer surface that have become rough, which cause pain. They smooth them out, remove any calcium buildup, and allow the healthy tissues to heal everything up. Nothing serious at all...never be your siblings study partner for the MCATS.

This could be kind of smart move to prevent Moz from going to EuroBasket this spetember

I hope this is tongue-in-cheek because if you think EuroBasket factored at all in deciding to have this surgery then wow just wow.

Jesus.

What if his sibling passed away recently?

For what it's worth I've had lots of super fun knee surgeries. Debridement was the least intense fastest recovery of them all. A couple small ortho holes (for me they reopened existing holes-maybe that makes a difference in recovery time- they are only the size of a tic-tac). It made a huge difference in removing resistance (and terrible noises) whenever I bent my knee. The 6 week time frame seems long but that generally (IIRC) how long it takes soft tissue to fully heal.
