Farewell, Timofey Mozgov

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I really like it. I give griff credit; he had the balls to use late first round assets to fill this roster out and fill NEEDS.

And, he did it with one player, Dion, who was a bad fit to start. Now if the previous regime would only have drafted Drummond, we wouldn't be here...lol (kidding).

Lets go!

So basically Griff turned
Bogans exception +Andy DP exception
Admundson + Kirk +Dion
Memphis pick and a second round pick into
Mozzzy, Iman and Jr WOW MAN
We got everything we wanted if we got a good Jr

HELL YEAH! Let's go! Within this week we have gotten bigger/more athletic/more depth while only giving up one player. I'm one of those guys who don't value the picks as much right now since we don't have time to wait to draft and develop a center, we are trying to win now and within the next couple years. I feel much more confident in this team to be successful in the playoffs now, we have a solid starting lineup and depth.

Fucking Griffin turned Dion into Shump/Jr Swish/Mozgov.... Also Mozgov is on a VERY friendly team deal right now for how centers are getting paid now a days. The way I look at it is, instead of keeping one of the picks and possibly taking a chance and drafting an unknown center, we basically "drafted" a proven center right now without having to wait on him to develop. Great job by Griff for patching almost all of our holes in one week. Oh and let's not forget we still basically have a "10 million trade exception" (Haywood) for next summer/season.... And I would be surprised if we don't snag another 7 footer in Dalembert from FA..

This is an AWFUL trade for the cavs. You could get the same deal for 1/2 the price if you WAIT until the deadline. Such a shame.

This is key - we need Dalembert or some other reasonably comaprable big to solidify the front line IMO. Problem is alot of other teams will bid vet min.

Yep, we need one more legitimate (not Tristan) backup center and I think we are all set for a real run.

We could use a backup point guard, as JKing says, but we have LeBron and I think Shumpert and maybe even Smith can play point if needed. Also Miller can handle the ball.

I think we need a backup PG More than a backup center. Tristan can cover the backup big position. Delly looks inept.

How can Tristan cover the backup big position when he starts?

So what's the running total right now for 2014-2015?

Cavs Out:

Andrew Wiggins
Dion Waiters
Anthony Bennett
Sergey Karasev
Tyler Zeller
Jarrett Jack
Alonzo Gee
4 First Rounders (Cavs 2016, OKC 2015, MEM 2015, MIA 2015)
6 Second Rounders

Cavs In:

Lebron James
Kevin Love
Timofey Mozgov
Iman Shumpert
J.R. Smith
Brendan Haywood's Contract
Edit: Kyrie Irving*
*You could conceivably add Kyrie here if there was any truth to him not wanting to re-sign if we didn't improve the roster. Definite asterisk though.

How does everyone feel about that? To me looks like you could argue that's about 3 picks too much.

If you ignore the rocky start to the year, seems like you do that deal 10 times out of 10. If this week's trades help turn Lebron and Love back into the real Lebron and Love, then it's probably a roaring success.

Just wish Gilbert hadn't put us in a position where probably 2-3 picks and a young guy could've been kept on the roster.

- Will Ray Allen continue to stay retired, or is he going to try to jump in the Griffin party boat that is set to leave the shore now?

- I don't care now if we get killed by the Rockets tonight. As long as we don't suffer any injuries, it's all good.

- Blatt already knows how to use Mozgov. That learning curve should be fairly simple.

I sort of agree - but I'm not sure DEN has a motivation to cave though. Because Mozgov has a cheap team option next year and he is only 28 DEN really has zero reason to move him right now.

There is a chance they just held out.

But your broader point is probably accurate, we theoretically could have had more leverage holding out until the deadline for other targets.

Has Shumpert played PG before? He has the talent too but I just wasn't sure if it has worked.

Solid move, need to cut price and replace him with someone who can just run the offense. Would love to get J.O. Or dally but I'm not sure yet if they are feasible. Even smith can take the spot minutes that price has had at PG given his playmaking and ball handling skills. Lebron can obviously control the ball too

Edit: it'll be great to have Varejao as the backup center next year also.
