Moz is still very young and will continue to develop. If we keep our core players in tact, and we win it this year, I can see winning big for the next 3 to 4 years.
I've been curious to know who taught Mozgov the "tap back" offensive rebound. I know Big Z was the tap back godfather as a Cavalier and he taught Andy... just curious to know how Moz picked it up. I feel like it's a new weapon lately.
The things that give me some hope with regard to Timo improving are that he's with LeBron and Blatt who are seemingly ideal mentors for him and I also feel like a lot of Mozgov's issues stem from mental errors or being overly emotional, which maybe can be corrected. He's 28 (29 in 2 months), guys. Sure he'll get a little better, but what you see is pretty much what you get.
I agree. This quote from the article "He is skilled at running the floor, finishing, and defending. He has uncommonly soft hands and seems to always be in the right place at the right time" was actually pretty accurate during the regular season. So far in the postseason, he just seems a little overeager and too excited, and it seems like it's affecting his ability to finish offensively. The things that give me some hope with regard to Timo improving are that he's with LeBron and Blatt who are seemingly ideal mentors for him and I also feel like a lot of Mozgov's issues stem from mental errors or being overly emotional, which maybe can be corrected.
Who else thinks mozgov has the potential to turn into then into one of the most dominant and best centers in the game? His physical frame and wingspan is ridiculous. His athleticism is freakish. The way he's able to snag lobs and finish with either hand is impressive. His left hand is impressive and his jumshot looks solid.
Saying all that, I still see a guy that looks really raw... Continued later when I can charge my phone. I have to get off data to conserve battery life
Mozgov is a slightly above average center. Its what it is, very valuable to our team because we needed someone who could play, but expecting him to be this dominant guy is unfair to him.
