Farewell to Jarrett Jack

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Re: Jarrett Jack

I am capable of picking up Jack and driving him to the airport if we trade him

Re: Jarrett Jack

I don't really even wan to trade Jarrett Jack. I'd rather just try and repair the relationship rather than sell him for pennies on the dollar.

He's one of the premier backup PGs in the league. I don't blame him for being annoyed with his current situation. He didn't leave Golden State to come to Cleveland and regularly play under 20 minutes a night. He's a good ass player and he knows it. Obviously he's going to become a locker room cancer when he still has 3 more years here in his current role.

So instead of selling low on him let's fix this. Start Dion. Let Jack run the 2nd unit. It's what we brought him here to do. Let's see if he can get back to the Jarrett Jack we were excited about signing in July/August.

Re: Jarrett Jack

The only asset of the Nets I've ever heard the Cavaliers liking is Teletovic, and I doubt they like him that much. Jack still has a lot of value in the league.

Re: Jarrett Jack

I'd hope we'd receive one or more draft picks in exchanging Jack for Terry.

agree. there should be two of Kyrie/Dion/Jack on the floor at almost all times.

start with KI/DW. Eventually sub DW out for JJ. Sub out KI for DW after certain amount of time. Bring in Delly for a short stint with DW, and then bring KI in to finish the half with DW.

KI/DW - start of game 'til 6min left in Q1
KI/JJ - 6min Q1 'til 10min left in Q2
DW/JJ - 10min Q2 'til 6min left in Q2
Delly/DW - 6min left Q2 'til 3min left Q2
KI/DW - 3min Q2 'til half

KI - 17min
DW - 16min
JJ - 12min
Delly - 3min

That was just a quick sketch of what we could have moving forward. I assume Delly could get a few more minutes, and that is not considering the 3 guard lineup MB runs, giving DW,KI, and JJ more time together (giving more possible time to Delly too).

Re: Jarrett Jack

The Cavs need to move Jack. He's an awful fit for this team.

That being said, he's still a viable option as a backup PG and is typically one of the best bench players in the league. They shouldn't be moving him for pennies on the dollar. They should absolutely be trying to get something of value back.

I don't really think Jack's contract is that bad when you look at what he has provided historically. Was it an overpay? Sure. But I think his contract looks worse when you consider what many teams are trying to do at this deadline, namely clear cap space. So it is about timing more than anything.

I think some in the Cavs front office were really set on adding a quality vet and a name that more casual fans could recognize. After striking out on other options, I think they went after Jack.

As for Jack, I'm not quite sure what he expected in Cleveland given that we had Kyrie and Dion. We must have offered the biggest deal by a decent margin. For whatever reason, he hasn't fit here.

I do still think he has value. And I think teams will hopefully consider an unclear role a big reason for his struggles.

Hopefully we can provide Jack with a better opportunity while increasing our flexibility and adding a piece that can help us win games.

I agree with this. But if the team can get trade him for some type of decent asset and an expiring, they can definitely use the cap money to potentially sign a max contract and some other decent vets that fit better in the offseason.

But I would definitely not do it just for Jason Terry.

Re: Jarrett Jack

Nets have no picks to give us for Jack/Terry. There would HAVE to be a 3rd team in that trade. We aren't stupid enough to trade Jack for Terry straight up

Re: Jarrett Jack

hey nets how about giving us shaun livingston back? :chuckles:

Yeah, it's one thing if Terry was an expiring, but he's not.

Re: Jarrett Jack

If dion is out let's move jack back to 6th man and see how he does.

I feel like that would be best for his trade value and team

We have won 5 straight and Jack has looked good as a starter, why would we change it up?
