Farewell to Jarrett Jack

Re: Quiet, but deadly offseason move by Cavs — Jarrett Jack

Some of the shots he takes are dumber than Gee.

Dude, you can't hit those...

Re: Quiet, but deadly offseason move by Cavs — Jarrett Jack

Definutely a deadly acquisition - for the TEAM.

Re: Quiet, but deadly offseason move by Cavs — Jarrett Jack

Spot up shooters seem to fit brown's model a lot better than the creative shooters. Perhaps there's something to the amount of defensive effort brown requires takes too much out of the Irving's and waiters' game to have them consistently carry the offense.

I think more and more as bynum gets acclimated he'll take more of the offense. That puts the offense more in a stand still, but also allows the guards to catch their breath.

So the Cavs are apparently -32 in the 15 minutes Jack has been in the game, and -0 in the other 19 minutes. Is that even possible?

Yes. He's been one of the worst acquisitions in the league up to this point.

"Silent, but deadly" seems to fit Jack perfectly

Re: Quiet, but deadly offseason move by Cavs — Jarrett Jack

Shouldn't be missed. He came in and the wheels immediately fell off. What was a nice, up-tempo 4 point game went, almost in a matter of seconds, to a 10 point game, and by the end of the quarter 13.

Re: Quiet, but deadly offseason move by Cavs — Jarrett Jack

These 9 games have certainly explained why he is on his 7th different team in 7 years.

Probably couldn't believe he found a sucker willing to give him a multi-year deal at pretty good money like that.

Re: Quiet, but deadly offseason move by Cavs — Jarrett Jack

Deadly is definitely the right way to describe this acquisition. He sure is killing team chemistry out there.

Re: Quiet, but deadly offseason move by Cavs — Jarrett Jack

I'll admit that the signing made me pretty excited at the time, mostly because it was a sign we were going to attempt to win. But I find myself more confused than pleased at this point.

Jack much like Waiters and Irving is an offensive first/scoring minded player. Essentially, he provides a worse version of what we already have on the team.

I still feel like he will play better but I can't think of many great teams where the three primary guards are all 6'3.

More than anything it just tremendously limits your flexibility.

Very few circumstances in which all 3 can be on the floor at the same time without putting us at a huge disadvantage defensively and on the boards.

GS got away with it at the end of games because Thompson's size more credibly made him able to hang with 3's. We don't have that luxury with our current personnel.

So, it's been what, 4 or 5 games now that when he comes in the team immediately dies? It's impressive.

Sick of this guy. I was clearly deluding myself when I thought he would bring valuable "veteran leadership." Terrible shooter. Blinders on at all times. Bad defender. Dumb decisions.

Man, what a rough contract... and we're 10 games into year 1.
