Fastlane Tonight - in Cleveland!

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Owens did his promo before the rusev Match and said he he tapped out because he is a family man and it would be irresponsible to risk injury. He also blamed Sheamus for walking out and Rusev for trying to decide which lana he liked more and pointed out for a moment it was 3 wwwe superstars to 1.

guy can rationalize anything

So guy made racist remarks while getting illegally filmed without his knowledge while banging with one of his swinging couples. Yet he's the one whose punished? I hope he puts this media outlet of business.

This country is a joke.

Sort of like the Sterling issue?

He can be racist, that's fine. However, wwe doesn't have to pay him if they don't want a racist representing their company.

So if I rant in the privacy of my home, my employer can fire me?

Owning a franchise in a predominantly black sport, and making similar comments is worse. It was a negative impact on the franchise and the league.

Here's a solution: Stop being racist everywhere, and you won't be in this situation.

Since this discussion involves Hogan and his sex tape lawsuit, here's hoping evidence surfaces that Gawker leaked that shit and they just get dumped on further. God I want so much for the destruction of that disgusting company.

Hogan may be a racist, but between the two sides, I'm still pulling for a Hogan win in that lawsuit.

Im curious what would happen if famous black people got recorded at their homes spouting racist crap.

my guess is they would keep their jobs and get invited on a comedy tour and rake in the cash.

As far as the WWE goes. it doesnt matter where and how Hogans comments came about . it doesnt look good on the brand so they needed to take some action but good luck to the WWE trying to erase him from existence.

The solution is to just not be a racist asshole.

And look, I make off color jokes all the time. But Hogan wasn't making a joke here that was taken out of context. He was saying horribly racist, offensive things. His was a viewpoint that literally no one should have. I'm not opposed to making some racist jokes from time to time, but never, not even in the privacy of my own home, have I lamented about those fucking niggers.

I feel no sympathy for Hogan, and neither should anyone else. I don't care if he was being recorded without his knowledge. The shit he said was obscene and offensive, and the fact that he didn't think he was being recorded means he really meant it, which just makes it worse.

And really, you're missing the point of freedom of speech here to begin with. Freedom of speech gives you the right to say whatever you like without fear of government retaliation. It doesn't protect you from the company you work for parting ties with you because you're a racist piece of shit who just got exposed. This is the Donald Sterling situation all over again. Hogan won't be arrested for his views, nor should he be. But the WWE is more than within their bounds to cut ties with him, and they should.

@gourimoko can probably sum this up better than I can.

seems to me Hogan was ranting to a woman about the guy his daughter was banging. Did he not like the guy cause he wasa racist or was he being racist cause he didnt like the guy? that seems to be a toss up. It also seems he would rather see his daughter hook up with an athlete.

Parents are irrational when it comes to their children

Are those things that are disappointing to hear someone say. absolutely . Id still get his autograph cause I really dont give a shit about

in that radion interview Hulk hogans explanation on why he used that word regularly sounded legit.
Black people especially athletes use that word all the time whether they talking to other black people or white people so he used it to. whats good for the goose is good for the gander.

if booker t had been recorded saying that stuff. noone would care. let alone get stripped from his companies records. so the pushback on a white guy saying it is racist in itself.

Are you fucking kidding me? Hogan did not use the term because other black people use it. He used it to verbally put down an entire race.

If you can't see the difference in a black person saying it and a white person saying it, there is no helping you on this matter.

depends on which instance your talking about.. the sex tip from years ago was a guy talking in his bedroom about his daughter and who she was hooked up with. Hogans use of the word in regular conversations steemmed exactly from that and noone who was black that he hung out with disputed it.

guy was venting. it got recorded. thats unfortunate. WWE took a move to protect their brand and the matter is done outside of the lawsuit.
and no there is absolutely no difference in a black person saying N***** than a black person.

none. its a racist concept in and of itself.

As i said If george foreman was recorded slamming one of his childrens relationships with racial overtones. nothing happens to foreman.

What makes one race more entitled to use a word than another other than racism that perpetuates the perception of differences between ethnicities.

I know in the eighties the first time I heard the word. was in elementary school from blacks.

Context is important. Hogan wasn't just tossing the word around casually and without meaning. He literally said "fucking niggers" multiple times to disparage an entire race. Him trying to justify it now is ridiculous, and anyone who actually buys what he's selling is incredibly naive.

Also, there's a huge difference between how most black people use the word and how Hogan used it in his quotes. A huge difference. If Hogan had used the word like they do, he probably wouldn't be in nearly as much trouble right now.

But he said it in a video that is currently owned by a company that he is suing. A video that was filmed without his knowledge. That's my bigger issue. The specifically leaked additional sound years after its release to burn him if he ever tried to sue.

Another thing that bothers me is he was fired by a company that is notoriously racist.

WWE relies heavily on PR. If one of their employees does something that negatively impacts their image, they have every right to fire them.

If you think the website should be punished for putting Hogan's private business out there, I'm on board with that. I hope he takes them to the woodshed in court.

WWE just doesn't owe him anything. They're going to do what's best for them because that's how business works. They don't care whether or not he's racist, I'm honestly willing to bet he's not, but he's bad for their image right now, and he's gone. Can't blame them for doing what's best for them.

Again, freedom of speech doesn't protect you from public backlash or your employer punishing you, even if the recording was taken without your knowledge. It only protects you from government reprisal. The WWE is totally within their rights to part ways with him over something that could damage their brand.

Hogan is also fully within his rights to sue the company that released the footage.
