Favorite Cuisine?

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I know it's not quite Indian, but I like Lebanese food A LOT. Quite frankly, I think that once someone figures out a way to make it more accessible to stubborn consumers, it'll take-off.

Not quite Indian? Lebanese isn't quite Indian at all. :chuckle:

Lebanese is one of my favorites though. There's a sizable Lebanese population in Toledo and a ton of Lebanese restaurants, so I probably eat it a few times a month. Who doesn't love a good baba ghanoush?

Oh man, don't I feel sheepish? Lol, sorry guys!

Of course I knew about the Italian immigration to the US but was certain it was considered a more "Aussie Italian" dish.

Maybe it's the fries that make it Australian? Pasta with a Parma? That's unheard of over here!

In the US, it's typically served over a bed of spaghetti noodles with some sort of marinara or similar tomato-based sauce. We also have a veal version that is otherwise the same but more delicious because the baby cow had to suffer for my enjoyment.

What is your favorite cuisine

Ass.

LOVE Lebanese food. In Raleigh, there's a restaurant right downtown called Sitti (Lebanese for grandma). Hands-down my favorite restaurant in the city. My mom's best friend is also Lebanese and makes us homemade baklava every December for the holidays. Orgasmic.

I'm not surprised that Indian food hasn't been a favorite. :chuckle:

Definitely top 5 for me. I actually make a kick ass yellow curry sauce:

Just pop some salt, pepper, coconut milk, shallots, jalapenos, garlic, ginger, lime juice, fish sauce (or soy), some brown sugar, and a shit-ton of curry powder into a blender or food processor... Pan fry some chunks of chicken breast with peanut oil... then toss everything into a pan with some chunks of potatoes and tomatoes and let that shit simmer for as long as possible. Serve it with some store-bought naan, and you've got the makings of a monster brown child being born out your rear the following morning. Its better than anything I can get for under $25/plate at an Indian place (why do all cheap indian places suck?) but it makes my house smell like armpits.

@brownindian - This is where I miss OS rep and demand it back! That gif is hilarious.

Whenever I was in NYC and in my uncles apartment building, it always smelled like curry. But then again, my grandparents house smelled like curry chicken. I ate a dish from Superior Pho once (Bò lúc lắc) and the first thing I said was "This tastes and smells like Brooklyn". I believe they marinate the meat in a curry powder which very close to what my mother and grandparents cooked with.

I've never been to Sitti but everyone I know who has will confirm what Deezy said.

Don't sleep on Aladdin's Eatery, the Lebanese mini franchise all over Ohio. I eat there at least once a visit back home to Cleveland.

Aladdin's is a solid choice for sure.

I will say one food item I will NEVER get sick of is pizza. Edison's in Treemont is just downright awesome.

Indian food is great but it sits like a brick in your stomach for hours after.

I'm Italian from Youngstown so nothing can beat home cooking .. Not impressed with most in little Italy cle..

Sushi was always one of my favorites but Vietnamese has really grown on me.. one of my favorite spots is Minh-Anh on Detroit.. Highly recommend.. Another gem is pupuseria la bendicion on w105 for authentic el salvadorian food..

I love everything that's been mentioned to this point, but a top 3 on my list that I haven't seen yet is BBQ.... I got a big green egg from my groomsmen last year and I'm obsessed with that damn thing. The intricacies of preparing and mastering excellent barbecue is unlike any other form of cuisine. The variable of coal based fuel, smoke etc is a game changer.

Tasting world class barbecue is an experience... And then you can branch out into international barbecue (Asado Argentino, mmm).
