Favorite Sub & Sandwich Shops

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Side note - felt this was appropriate following Steeler week.

But... Primanti's in Pittsburgh is the most overrated piece of shit sandwich I've ever had. Dry, bland, dog food - all words I'd use to describe my cheesesteak there.

I'd also like to give a shout out to Mister Spot's in Bowling Green. That place makes a damn good cheesesteak, and their waffle fries with a side of cheese sauce are basically the greatest thing there is. I still miss that place. Have yet to find a place around here that can replicate it.

They deliver beer.

+100

Also in the area is South Side 6, who makes as quality a burger/gyro as you're likely to find.

Spot's is great and all, but like, the wings are actually better than the cheesesteak and it bothers me people don't know that.

And I need like two sandwiches to even fill me up.

Firehouse and Jersey Mike's are definitely good options as is DiBella's.

Mr Hero is delicious. The Roman burger is a grease filled work of art while the Chicken Philly is pretty darn good too. What is lost is the waffle fries and hot cheese sauce to go along with it. God, my arteries are clogging just at the thought of that value meal.

Yeah their wings are great too. Really, everything there is awesome. Their cold cut subs are fantastic too.

South Side 6... That little quickie mart spot on Napoleon? You are a brave man to eat from that place. Must have the stomach lining and intestines of a God.

Anyway, Mister Spots is solid, but as mentioned the wings are actually better than the Philly cheesesteaks there. Don't get me wrong.. they're decent, but the smells that come out of you the next day are comparable to taking down an entire White Castle Crave Case. No one needs that in their life.

Penn Station and Firehouse are the best, IMO. Someone mentioned that Penn Station's fries were soggy... must have had a bad batch or something because normally their fries are crack. Dave's Cosmic Subs is highly underrated in both options and quality.

Jimmy John's is SO overrated it's not even funny. It's like 90% bread, 5% cold cuts, and 5% lettuce drenched in mayo. I could make that shit at home. It's slightly better than Subway from a quality and price standpoint, but with Subway you atleast feel you ate somewhat healthy with all the extra veggies you can add on.

Don't know what's being argued about Mr. Hero but if you don't enjoy their greatness you're clearly a Nazi

Alright. Let's do this.
138021380. Subway
8. Poop
7. Charley's (meh)
6. Dave's Cosmic Subs
5. Quizno's
4. Jersey Mike's
3. Jimmy John
2. Mr. Hero
1. Penn Station (and it's not even close)

*Disclaimer: I've never had DiBella's but I've heard great things.
Jason's Deli is much better than any of those mentioned.

I love Pen Station but Charley's is the best.

Subway >>>>> jimmy johns by a mile. I don't even see what people like in them.

Subway is a shitty sub shop that uses cheap, disgusting ingredients and crappy bread. Jimmy Johns is a mediocre sub shop that uses decent to good ingredients and good bread.

Literally every sub place is better than Subway.

Seriously, I used to eat Subway a lot my first stint in college, but now? I mean, I'll eat it here or there but it isn't even cheap anymore and that's the best thing it had going for it. It really is shitty...best thing going for it now is it is still low calorie but it is pretty shitty and expensive to boot.

I actually ate it for lunch today. :chuckle:

But hey, five bucks for lunch in downtown Charlotte is still pretty cheap.
