Four Team Deal Sends Howard to Lakers

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Re: Three-Way ORL/LAL/Cavs Rumor

Is there any recent news on this deal? There haven't been any rumors that I've seen and nothing about Dwight is even mentioned on ESPN or other sites, so I don't know if anything's going on.

Orlando is just waiting.. no news to report. Expect in about a week it will heat up again.

No news is good news

Eric Pincus at HoopsWorld just finished his look at the current Rockets salary situation. Note that Asik hasn't become a Rocket yet (and various draft choices haven't signed), but this is pretty much what Orlando is looking at to make a deal:

How much would the first year of a Max contract be? Sill 105% of previous or a certain percentage of cap based on service?

Well it is Sunday night. I dont expect a trade to break this late at the end of the weekend. But I also think no news is good news, as all are keeping info tight to not stop a trade. I think if we get news it is close, it means the trade is over.

Re: Three-Way ORL/LAL/Cavs Rumor

In my eyes, I don't think this guy should go anywhere. They should make him stay in Orlando and let him be criticized by his old fans night in and night out. He deserves it, he's a prick.

But then again, that's why I'm never going to be a GM.

Re: Three-Way ORL/LAL/Cavs Rumor

Regarding Bynum, I think it's noteworthy that 47% of his shots were jumpers last season and he connected on them at a 47.1 eFG%. That's a better percentage that most bigs who are considered good shooters, and it's no fluke. He was very good last year too.

Would someone care to look up his shot chart so we can get an idea what sort of range he has? I imagine he's mostly taking short range jumpers, but it's always best to check.

In a couple years they're going to be paying Jeremy Lin and Asik like 30 million combined.

That's just fucking hilarious in my eyes.

Ron Artest was guess hosting on ESPN 710am the other day, he had plenty of very good things to say about Bynum. He was adamant in saying he believes Bynum is the best center in the league.
He also said, "Andrew Bynum, he's practicing on things that's gonna make him better. You see him make jumpshots, he shot a 3 and we all expected it to go in and people got upset but we see him shoot and make 3's 5 to 10 in a row in practice."

For the next three years, Lin and Asik will both be getting paid $8.37M/year. If the Knicks/Bulls had matched for Lin/Asik, the Knicks/Bulls would have had to pay $15M in the third year. A loophole in the CBA allowed the Rockets to construct the offer this way, but they do not have to suffer its consequences. Their salary pain is averaged equally over the 3 years in terms of the salary cap.

It's still a lot of money for each player.

Re: Three-Way ORL/LAL/Cavs Rumor

Yeah it is a lot. Thanks for explaining that too, by the way. I'm just amazed that Lin got a deal like that after starting only 25 games or so. It's incredible what that insane amount of media exposure did for him, just unreal. I know this isn't a new concept or anything but when I've never been overwhelmed by him and he think he's grossly overrated. I understand his popularity abroad helps for marketing purposes so I guess it's an investment that goes outside of the arena as well; however, once he gets further exposed and his weaknesses (no left hand driving ability) are well-known, his play could take a tremendous decline.

That is indeed speculating on my account though, it's just what I think is going to happen to him.

Didn't mean to steer this off-topic though, not holding my breath that a deal goes through.

Lin is a turnover machine, plus a ball hog. I remember watching him against the Raptors, and he took something like 30 shots and had only 3 assists. Not to mention he had something like 7 turnovers.

Insanely overrated.

Or should I say... Linsanely?

Re: Three-Way ORL/LAL/Cavs Rumor

lol I think he had like 56 turnovers or something in an 8 game stretch. It makes me laugh more than anything. He's a point guard, turnovers at that volume are just unacceptable at this level.

So is anyone going to actually roll the dice on the potential 'on-year-rental' on D12? He's such a twat man.

Why the fuck did he opt in for this coming season? You want out, get the fuck out don't drag the shit out.
