I forgot, is Pagano 3-4?

Yes, and not only that but they have a past of switching Indy from a 4-3 to a 3-4, swapping out players who didn't fit. I'm hopeful the Browns don't go that direction. Plenty of DC candidates aren't that rigid.

MKC:

Other coaches have already been told they’re being let go, including some on the offensive side of the ball. Former NFL quarterback Ryan Lindley, brought in by Kitchens to coach the running backs after he was promoted, could be in line for a promotion, to quarterbacks coach or even more.

Pagano wouldn't be brought in to change a scheme. They've sharp enough to play with the talent they have.

did McCarthy even get an interview?

this seems like someone making shit up

Although it seemed there was mutual interest between the Browns and McCarthey, with an interview even announced. And then it just died.

Not saying this report is true, but it's a plausible explanation for why it went down the way it did.

I still think they should look at Jonathan Gannon from Indy for a defensive role.

Are there any concerns with that?

There are quite a few experienced DCs on the market.

The Pagano brothers, Steve Wilks, Vance Joseph, Jim Schwartz’s contract is apparently up after the year.

May be able to get someone who has head coach experience on top of that to help with Freddie’s transition.

It's fair to ask if he was ever even here. Early on last offseason Hue was shoehorning his guys into offensive assistant roles and Haley was doing the same. We never read or saw one moment where Zampese had a voice. Lindley appeared to be interacting with Baker the most once he arrived on the staff. Okay I feel like I need to scrub my body with a lufa after thinking about the Hue and Haley wars.

He was probably just hanging out on the roof all day still collecting a check.

That’s such a savage move to fire guys who were on the staff with you. And firing your former boss lmao
