If you thought our defense was bad... oh boy. I'd rather suit up Austin Carr and have him defend out there instead of James Jones.

His D isn't any worse than Joe Harris or Mike Miller. But he actually makes up for it on offense.

Defense is mostly effort. If you had something like Delly, LeBron, Marion, Jones, and Andy, I think you could find a way to give Jones a few minutes.

But even looking at that list of names of you've got at least two weak defenders you're pairing him with. Marion and LBJ are the only guys who are plus defenders if they want to be. Delly tries hard but can't move his feet quick enough. Andy tries hard but isn't close to the same defensive presence he was 4 years ago.

Dion has his issues but what he is not is below average.

You say that now but you'll quickly change your mind when he's trying to defend in normal, non-blowout situations. It's not good. It's probably worse than Mike MIller.

The way our bench has played, which is pretty bad, you might have to give him some minutes. If Joe Harris and Miller can't hit a shot, they just ruin our spacing out there.

It's not like they're world beaters defensively, even if Jones is worse.

That's fine, but the excuse making has to stop. We've got enough evidence to safely say this guy just isn't a very good NBA player.
