Game 18 | Cavs (10-7) @ Raptors (15-4) | Friday, December 5th 2014 | 7:30 PM ET

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Best game of the season for sure as we have played terribly at times on the road. We controlled the entire game without any of the Big Three playing super great.

We were ultra weak inside and got rebounded on and scored from Johnson which we somehow need to improve (obviously need a center).

On the other end Tristan was as good as he was terrible last night. If anyone outside of the Big Three gives a good game, I see us as difficult to beat in a series in the East. We still need more James in the post, more Love/Bron pick and rolls/pops, more Kyrie/Love pick and rolls/pops, and more Love post ups. Unfelt that Love could have caused some serious foul trouble to some of their bigs given touches in the post. I'm sure that given time, this can become a well oiled machine that makes getting stops extremely difficult.

Our initial defense has been decent to good these past two games but we have given up so many offensive boards (we'll probably be around 18th or 19th in the league in defensive rebounding after tonight) which is what we were supposed to be the best at. The Raps probably score 75 without so many easy ORebs tonight (and we score around 92-95 without ours).

Jones is a liability on defense for sure but did decently tonight and scored winning baskets and points. Maybe he needs to see more time in certain situations. James loved playing with him when Wade was resting last year. In any case, it's nice to see a few games in close succession in which both James and Miller hit big shots. It will be wonderful getting Delly back soon.

Lebron is having very good games and is getting shitted on becausehe doesnt have hisformer athleticsm. Thats crazy to me

not sure if directed at me but i was just joking around

You triggered it but definitely not directed at you......the game threads are horrible man.

You reminded me to say sonething about it

we didn't even play that great..none of the big 3 lit it up and we still won by 14... our D still planting the clamps down.. for all the talk of our bad D the last 2 nights we help NY to 88 and Tor to 91... D is looking good.. if we got some D boards it would be real nasty ..LOL

Knicks went cold last night. Our defense was not impressive. Sounds like it was much better tonight. Can't wait for this tip to consistently put it together on both ends of the floor. Or at least one, consistently. In the mean team, it is good to know that we can bring our B or C game, and still beat half-decent teams.

I really don't think LeBron has lost his athleticism, there have been plenty of times where he has shown it's still there.

I just think for the first time in his career he has to deal with a lingering injury. It's not bad enough to keep him out of games, but it is definitely affecting his play.

Hopefully his back isn't an issue all season. It's obvious it's bothering him.

A very tasty victory. Does Raptor taste like gator? I've had gator.

Most impressive win of the season since the Chicago game (also a 2nd night of a back-to-back). I was expecting a lackluster performance, or a 2nd-half fade, and they ended up surprising me a lot.

Seemed like they played more zone than usual (esp. when Jones was in the game), which cost them against Amir Johnson, but holding the Raptors to 91 points at home was a true feat. Toronto had been averaging over 109/game.

The most encouraging thing about the game is that the Cavs aren't playing on all cylinders, they still have so much room for improvement, and they thoroughly outplayed a good team on the road. If they can get just 2 players to contribute off the bench, they will be very tough. With Dellavedova and then Miller coming back, I'm hoping to see a noticeable leap up in overall performance.

Reading through it just now, I found the game thread highly entertaining and hyperbolic as usual. Especially the comments on Tristan early and Tristan late. :chuckle:

I don't know why people complain about game threads. They have typically been filled with agony and despair, and then comes the last page where you find out whether the Cavs won or not.

Only the second 6-game win streak since LBJ left.

Totally forgot they rattled off 6-in-a-row last year.

well NY scored 35 in the 2nd half so whatever you'd like to call it.. still pretty impressive..and yes we have still haven't played our "A" game yet

I think lebron is willing to let Love and Irving lead the team in scoring while he racks up the assist. they just gotta get to his level before they can do so.

Great win. I was bitching about waiters and Thompson....fell asleep and woke up to this. Thompson made me eat my words which I love. Go Cavs!!

yea somehow we played zone against the raps and didnt get eaten alive on second chance possessions. and its us rebounding. against the raps.

Yeah, reading through the thread is ridiculous. LeBron actually has done very good making sure everyone feels involved and catches a rhythm. So much so his efficiency has suffered. I'd like to see him more at the 4 and closer to the basket. No reason he shouldn't be shooting 50% nightly but he's far too often on the perimeter. Its ok for now but he's stated he doesn't like ball handling duties long term... It's exhausting
