GAME 24 | Cavs vs Hawks | Dec. 13, 2008 | 7:30 PM

Yes.

Because when you argue with the ref there are only two possible outcomes: you get T'd up, or nothing changes and you just look like a crybaby.

You've never played bball with refs? You can get them to notice fouls or other mischiefs if you "complain" about. But timing is important, that is true.

jj didnt get hot until west was on the bench and sasha was guarding him. west was doing a good job at denying him th ball and not letting him get into a rythym. why everyone is so down at delonte because he hasnt been shooting the ball great is beyond me. he must have been fouled 4 times while shooting and there were no calls made. thats the way is does. he does so many other things on the court that arent noticed ~ thats why he plays the 2nd highest min. on the team

Sasha was getting called for weak fouls. JJ didn't get hot until switching to Mo, Bibby was left open and cashed on it. It was minor mistakes like that plus the fact that we couldn't make free throws or 3's when it counted. LeBron should have taken the left over time out and the last shot should have been taken by Bron (personal opinion is that he would have made that shot even if it was contested). The turning point was Smith's block on Delonte at the 3.

I have. And I've always been against whining to the refs. A comment or two? Sure. But nothing that will get you T'd up, nothing that will cost you transition defense. That's absurdity. They will not change a call, obviously, and givign up free points on the offside hope that the ref will "see the light" next time in a similar situation just doesn't do anything for me.

delonte had to take the shot because there was 1 sec left on the shot clock. also if you didnt notice he got hit pretty hard in the face with NO call

Im not saying he didn't have to take the shot, Im saying it was a momentum shift.

it could have been a momentum shift... but should a foul have been called? it was a good block he just hit him after the fact:)

mo is a baller,is clutch and belongs next to lebron...he actually played good D,he may got burned a few times but who can hold mike bibby or joe johnson?? no one

props to MB to play mo the whole 2nd half

I don't recall if this was necessarily the case, but the main difference between Sasha and Delonte guarding JJ were that almost every time that Delonte guarded JJ we had to send a double team, leaving Bibby wide open for 3's. With Sasha on him, at least we could guard him straight up most of the time.

The Hawks pose a ton of matchup problems. It's hard not to switch on the JJ/Bibby pick and roll because they're both great shooters. If you leave one some room they can pull up for three. Ideally, you have two good defenders capable of taking JJ so that you can switch.

Like Sasha on Bibby and LeBron on JJ. If you switch, Sasha is one of our best chances to handle Joe Johnson, and LeBron is pretty good guarding point guards. The only problem is, you still need Mo in there for offense, and he ends up guarding somebody like Marvin Williams, which leads to trouble elsewhere.

I would have been fine with Marvin Williams trying to post up on Mo Williams. Marvin did make the big 3-point shot, though, so he might just have continued on that path. In the playoffs, I would much prefer living with the consequences of Marvin Williams taking the big shots from anywhere on the floor.

Hope we get to play the Hawks. Despite last night, I think the Cavs should match up with them well. And beat them 4-1.

You must have missed the instant double teaming of Joe Johnson when West was tagging him and the single teaming when Sasha marked him then.

Guess you missed the game.

Told you so...

I thought we might take a loss ..I could feel it throughout the first half..missing too mnay shots..no real inside game and they were getting too much penetration.
This is why we need either another two guard or athletic big who can score..
