Game 24: Trail Blazers @ Cavs, Tuesday, December 17, 2013, 7:00 PM EST

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Watching Lillard kind of pissed me off.

When are we going to get lucky in the lottery and get a franchise caliber guy like that in a spot where usually you don't expect it?

I am sure they thought he would be good, but he is in Kyrie's neighborhood as a player and he's a killer. That's not what you usually get out of the 6th pick.

concur with those talking about Gee bodying up on Lillard - he would have just blown by him. Lillard is no joke. Cavs got beat by a great team that is white hot right now.

Make that switch baby. Bennett, who can't play more than 4 minutes without looking like a boxer at the end of 12 rounds, couldn't manage to find Thomas Robinson, would have been GLORIOUS in those 1on1 situations against Aldridge. LMA would have put up about 40.

BUT HE STRETCHES THE FLOOR (or so we think)!

Personally, I would have had Gee up on Lillard and made Lillard make a play off the dribble to beat us rather than letting him walk into a 3. I would have made Lillard get past Gee and then either hit a tough pull up jumper or pass it to someone else and make someone besides Lillard beat us.

Fuck LeBron too.

"Game of the year"

Go rehab your ankle you traitorous bastard.

And besides the terrible rebounding and allowing 2nd chance points, I think Jarrett Jack's missed layups late hurt us... I thought he played pretty well besides that though.

It's really hilarious that some people ignore literally every other single aspect of the game and cite floor spacing as a good reason Bennett should start. Are we watching the same player here? Not only is he not a shooter that other teams will need to keep a body on out to the 3pt line, he can't play more than a few minutes at max effort before becoming visibly gassed. Hell no to him starting at this point.

THIS!!!

He hit it clean and Portland STILL said, meh, make the next 4 and then we might close out on you. And Timid would not let it fly.

He shut down Bynum in the second half. Time to make the switch.

Tristan tried two more jumpers in the game but missed.

You're right, but at the same time you have to stop the drive as well. Gee was slow to respond, but we'd be just as pissed in a blow by.

He released that shot with 1.7 seconds left. There's no way he would have been able to drive, or drive and dish, or whatever. If you're that concerned about him driving, you have to trust that your defense is going to be behind you to help pick up the slack.

The 3 to end the game was poorly defended. You can't let him walk into the shot almost completely uncontested. When he caught the ball that far out and didn't immediately penetrate, Gee has to get up on him. At least make him take the shot on the move and/or give someone an opportunity to come over and contest. You can't let a guy who has already buried 7 treys get that easy of a look without even working for it.
Yup, Gee is terribly overrated as a defender, I personally would have loved to see Dion on him. Heck, Kyrie might have taken it a bit personally and got in his grill.

You're honestly a complete moron with very little basketball knowledge. He's not a special player. He's not in Kyrie's class and Waiters is better. Quit whining like a loser douche.

This Blazer team reminds me of the 3 time champion blazer teams i coached on RCF 2k league

Think you're in it & then boom. They drain a big time shot to rip your heart out. Well constructed & coached, Ahh brings back memories.

shouts out to chrisrich and rchfld :chuckles:

Still cant believe 2K had Brandon Roy and Danny Granger playing like Jordan and Pippen on those teams. :chuckles:

It was a hell of a shot, that much can't be debated. There were a lot of positives in this game and a lot of things to fix. The biggest positive for me is that when we were down 10 late, we had the fight to keep fighting against a top tier team. Kyrie balled out, Dion made plays. These two can play together.

We're a young team still, we're still learning how to win. This game will go a long way in terms of confidence and lessons to learn from. A loss is a loss but I like to look at it as a glass half full loss.

Gee shouldn't have been on him. Gee shouldn't have been on the floor. Waiters should have been on Lillard.
