Game 26 | Cavs (15-10) vs Grizzlies (21-5) | December 21, 2014 | 4:30pm EST

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
You're only saying this because you would take an un-proven rookie over an all-star. Calm down.

If he isn't scoring, he is rebounding.
You said that right now you'd rather have Wiggins' fire and mentality.

Kevin Love brings more as a decoy and as a rebounder, even on an off-shooting night, than whatever "fire and mentality" you are talking about.

That's my final comment as I don't wanna bloat this thread, I like Love, I'm not doubting the trade, this is what I saw tonight.
The thing I'm feeling and what I mean is Love doesn't necessarily makes the team more of contender than with wiggins ATM so perhaps holding on till next season was the wiser choice.
I don't want to be a "bad poster" sometimes you feel like you gotta write what you think some sort of a rant thingie..

I understand what your opinion is, I just have no idea how you are coming up with it?

How can you say that Love doesn't makes us a better contender than Wiggins would? That's just baseless and quite frankly, kind of crazy to assert.

What do you mean holding on until next season?? I am pretty sure we wouldn't have the cap space since Irving's deal would kick in.

I know we wouldn't have the cap space to sign Love,
but there will be other FA's next year..
to the other poster, when did Hawes play over 30 minutes in his career? clearly the Cavs can win with Love scoring less than 10 points.
The offense does not need to run through him for the Cavs to be effective.
I'm not even talking about the Defense as we all know is kinda bad.

This is one of those games that feels good to watch, since the positives outweigh all. Kyrie with double-digit assists. Dion with 21 points off the bench. LeBron doing what LeBron does. Mike Miller contributing. Good defense being played. Memphis is a good team that can take it to the best of the West, so winning like this against them is great.

That should tell you something about Spencer Hawes, shouldn't it?

We beat Memphis convincingly as a team and some of you are going on about wiggins. Love did his part tonight and had a well rounded game. stats should be the last things on these guys mind.

I guess I don't get the Love Haters tonight. He was 4-9 with a +18/8pts/8reb with 5 other Cavs in double figures....and we won big time.

If he's not scoring or rebounding (he missed a few today), he's still spacing the floor.

To the other poster--Wiggins might become something offensively down the road but right now, he's an offensive black hole and a decent defender who will probably become elite in due time but average right now. We wouldn't win anything with him this year or probably next. I'm not worried about Love right now.

Cause he has many deficiencies and is big and white so he might have bad stamina but is Love is that much better and a crucial piece for contending?
Love has alot of deficiencies aswell and there is a difference between them obviously is the arsenal of moves, flexibility and BB talent, Love is obviously a better 1-2 punch Star player but is he that valueable for a team with that much offensive threats?

11-3 in our last 14..

8 of those wins against playoff bound teams.

All 3 losses against playoff teams.1 of the losses without LBJ. The other two were against teams we've already beat. One was with 3 guys fighting food poisoning.

Sound better in perspective?

To quote LeBron "It's we first. Then we. Then we. Then we. Then we. Then we. And then me."

Kevin Love played his part for the team tonight and he knows/should know it. He's not always going to get 20 and 10 - he's not in Minny anymore and a lot of you need to stop treating him like he is. When his number is called, he'll be ready like he is when he gets off to his lightning quick shooting first quarters. But he doesn't need to sustain this level of intensity for 4 quarters.

People forget that this is a team game. Love getting hot and getting shots off in the first not only keeps him active early, but diverts attention to himself to allow the other guys (see the Dion's and Miller's of the world) to get involved in the game to make an impact. His presence on the floor and his vast offensive arsenal makes him a constant threat, and from a coach's perspective, this can be utilized to create space for other players in the following 3 quarters, even if it means Love has to get 3-4 shots off for the rest of the game, not giving him an opportunity to have a big scoring night.

I'm not saying that's what should happen every night, but on a night like tonight when Andy is shooting the ball well from inside and mid-range, Dion is dropping 21, Marion is finding his shooting rhythm off the bench and LeBron and Kyrie are shooting lights out, it's okay if he's not putting up monster numbers.

Somebody has to miss out each game for the betterment of the team and tonight that was him (if you can even call it missing out - just trying to work a point). It's more likely he comes out next game and drops 10-12 in the first than not getting a shot off at all and struggling in all areas of the game.

Tonight, Love found other ways to affect the game, and this resulted in a Cavs win, good work from the bench, a good output from Kyrie and LeBron and Dion's best game.

I know what I'd prefer if I was him and you gave me the choice...

Would you rather be an HOF guy on a mediocore team with numbers of 26/12 or on a winning or potentially an NBA champion with numbers of 17-10
and not be rememberd?
I rather be Charles Barkley than a better Robert Horry

Ugh, it'd be horrible being Robert Horry. Arms gotta be tired all the time dragging that much gold around.

The NO games was 4th in 5 nights
Love was sick for the ATL game as well. Not making excuses but his defense has been much better outside of that game

jesus, does our schedule ever get easy?

in the next 20, we play:

gs
hou
atl
chi
lac
okc
port
Dal

..8 games against teams with a legitimate shot at the finals.. combined record of 138-48, or .742

btw dallas jjust got better. OKC just got a shit ton better. Dwight Howard is back in Houston.

Isn't it just exciting?

This is what it's all about. The last four years I would just be happy to sneak maybe a win here and there against one of those teams, now I'm ready to watch the Cavs compete.

...
(But yeah... this whole first 35-40 percent of our season is pretty rough. 74% Winning percentage... geesh....)

Great game tonight. I wonder when was the last time we've scored 100+ points while taking >=10 free throws (will look into it)? *Edit, well the Cavs scored 127 on the Hawks this year on 13 free throw attempts O_O, so that kind of efficiency isn't as rare as I thought.

**Edit, Edit: Last year we met those criteria and even shot 57 percent from the field while scoring 122 points on 5-9 free throw shots in a win against.... the Pistons. In April....
But still ... it's a little more impressive to do something like that against the freaking Grizzlies in December. (with or without Randolph/Tony).
