Game #49| Cavs vs Lakers| Sunday Feb. 8th, 2009| 3:30pm [ET]

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
So you guys still think this team is winning anything this year without a trade deadline deal?

I think this team, if healthy, can win a championship.

But I still would like to see us pick up a quality big.

I hope the "potential" and "chemistry" bandwagoners watched our offense completely tank again against an elite team that can limit Lebron's trips into the paint. Everybody else was relegated to gunning deep Js and hunting for scraps on the O boards because we have no #2 option who can go and get his own against a sound defensive team.

If we don't shoot 50% from 3 while the Lakers were ice cold, this was a 20+ point romp.

Way to represent RCF by acting like a ****ing douche. I hate the Lakers and their fans as much as anyone, but if you're gonna be a prick, at least save if for a troll that deserves it...

agreed, let's not be sore losers. l

lol @ lashing out at any laker fan whether they have kind words or not.

Well the sports guy on channel 5 said it best, this was the icing on a disappointing week from Lebron's triple double being stripped to Mo being snubbed and now a loss at home. It's going to be crucial we regroup and come back with a better effort.

Why all the hate on LeBron? Obviously he had a subpar game finishing the rim, but unless he is making his jumpers, when teams overload the floor and basically commit 2 and a half or 3 guys to guarding him, we are going to have to make shots. We did that in the first half, didn't do that in the second half.

dunno, based on the first half or the second? cuz while we are making snap judgments based on a fraction of a season, why not break it down even more? looking at the second qtr, i'd say the Cavs go undefeated and Mo will average 50 points a game.

Our perimeter defense was awful too. How are we supposed to defend the 3 ball without Delonte OR Pavs. Seriously, they had a ton of good looks from outside and missed a ton of them. We would have been blown out. Nobody got back around the perimeter.

We didn't rebound.Simple as that.

same here i far from thirsty and i don't plan on drinking the "i just lost" kool-aid that will have me ITCHING for a trade by any means necessary.

sure i'd support a trade especially for a camby etc...but it's not like we suck and a trade is absolutely mandatory.

I still think we can win, but I have wanted to make a trade all year.

i just want to be healthy....please god. We had 1.5 guards today. We really could have used TK a bit to be honest.

Honestly, the Lakers just have better personnel. Outside of LBJ & Kobe, they just have better players. Don't like to admit it but after both games against them..they just own us in the paint and on the boards and just have more options offensively.

It is what it is...hopefully we can get another big man at the deadline

What is wrong with you guys?

The lakers didn't do anything differently. They played Lebron the same way in the second half. Lebron made the same passes also but in the second half our guys missed SHOTS!!! It's that simple.

They wanted us to be a jump shooting team and we missed in the second half. We will not win a championship by being a jumpshooting team.

I've been observing every single game of the season and I think its obvious that we need a low post option. Either that or MB has to get Lebron to play in the post.

MB's lineups were horrible, Odom was torching us out there and he stayed with the lineup.

Everyone blames Lebron when he goes to Le-Iso's or the other players for dribbling, dribbling, dribbling and killing the clock and then making a bad play. But the coach is a big part of that.

If lebron played for Phil Jackson, Greg Popovich or even Mike D'Antonie he would not just pound the ball. The other guys on this team would not just kill the clock. The other guys would not just be spot up shooters.

No one on this team moves without the ball. When you do that you just make yourself a jumpshooting team.

Kobe was sick today and they had no Bynum yet they still won. What do you guys want Lebron do to? If he has three guys on him he has to pass the ball but our guys could make the shots.

The benefit kobe has is that he passes to Pau Gasol and Odom for finishes while Lebron is left with ben wallace and AV. Two guys who can't finish for shi*.

Z was obviously going to start missing so that was not a suprise. His post up game was nice but why does a 7 footer fade away from the basket??? That is stupid. Yes he knocked those down but you will not win like that.

Your 7 footer has to be able finish inside with power. He has to be able to post up and have good footwork and have atleast some small hooks.

If we matchup with the Lakers in a 7 game series we will lose.

I agree that people's hate on him is really overblown in this thread, and rather uncalled for.

But really, we needed him to step up and put a lot more pressure on the Lakers than he did in the second half, and he didn't. So there is certainly some room there for complaining about his performance. He really didn't bring it tonight.

He likes shooting 3 pointers way too much.

Also... its sickening that whenver an injury or something to that nature happens during a game, Mike Brown looks COMPLETELY loss and unprepared to make any kind of adjustment to his preset gameplan.

Every game that we loose someone during the game, we loose, and its because the team doesnt adjust on teh fly at all.

Hell, I think if Sasha had not got injured and LA had changed teh way they play for some reason, like Kobe being sick, then we would have lost anyway.
