GAME NOTES
The Cavaliers have won the last six contests against the Memphis Grizzlies including the last four at The Q.

Sunday’s victory marked Cavaliers Head Coach Mike Brown’s 300th game as head coach of the Cavaliers. Brown has a 188-112 (.627) record and ranks 5th among active head coaches in wins in their first 300 games (220 - Phil Jackson, 206 - Rick Adelman, 190 - Stan Van Gundy,
189 - Rick Carlisle).

With Sunday’s win, the Cavaliers lead the Central Division race by 16 games, and join this year’s Celtics (16.5 game lead in the Atlantic Division) as the only teams to have a lead of at least 15 games this late in the season in their division since the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls.

The Cavaliers hold the best home record in the NBA at 25-1 (.962). At home, Cleveland holds opponents to NBA-lows 89.2 points (next best is New Orleans at 91.0) on .419 shooting (next best is Orlando at.424) while averaging 104.5 points (9th) and shooting .483 (4th – Phoenix, Boston, Utah) this season.

The Cavs are 28-0 when they score 100 points, averaging 108.6 points to opponents 93.6 (15.0 point margin) and are shooting .495 while opponents are only shooting .428. Of those 28 games, 15 have come at home and 13 have come on the road.

For the 2008-09 NBA season, the Cavaliers rank in the Top 5 in the following defensive and offensive statistical categories:
The Cavs are winning games by a 10.1 point differential, which ranks 1st, and is the only team to hold a double-digit margin of victory.
The team ranks 1st in overall opponent points allowed per game, the only team to allow less than 91.0 points, at 90.8.
Cleveland is tied for 1st (Boston) in defensive field goal percentage, allowing opponents to only shoot .427 from the field.
The Cavs rank 3rd in the NBA (Portland, Boston) in opponent rebounding, holding teams to only 38.6 rebounds per game.
The team is tied for 4th (New Orleans) in the league (Boston, Milwaukee, Orlando) in opponent points per game in the paint, allowing only 36.2 points per game.

At 18-10 (.643), the Cavaliers possess the 5th best road record in the NBA (L.A. Lakers, Boston, Orlando, San Antonio). After tonight’s game against Memphis, the team embarks on a four-game, five-night road trip and is only four road wins from tying the franchise record of 22 road wins in a season, set by the 1991-92 Cavaliers. Only eight times in franchise history has a team posted more than 18 wins in a season.

Against Detroit, Cleveland shot .556 (10-18) from three point range and are 16-3 (.842) in games in which they make 10 or more three-pointers. The 67 first half points scored ties for the most points the Cavs have scored in a first half this season (Nov. 25, 2008 at New York). Their 36 second quarter points are the most they’ve scored in a second quarter this season.

Cleveland also had a season-low six turnovers, the least they have committed since January 23, 2008, when they had six against Washington. They also dished out 24 assists for a 4:1 assist-to-turnover ratio. Defensively, the team held Detroit to .372 (32-86) shooting and have held their opponent under .400 from the field 15 times this season. The Cavs are 15-0 in those games, including 11-0 at home.

In his first game back after a 16-game absence due to injury, Delonte West scored a season-high 25 points versus the Pistons and added five rebounds and four assists. West was 5-5 from three-point range, tying his career high for three-pointers made. In the first quarter, West scored 13 points on 4-6 (.667) shooting and knocked down three three-pointers (3-3). The last time West scored 25 or more points was on April 16, 2007 when he scored 28 against Miami.

On Sunday, Zydrunas Ilgauskas scored 16 points and grabbed a team-high eight rebounds in 23 minutes. In his last three games, Ilgauskas is averaging 16.3 points on .590 shooting and 6.7 rebounds per game.

Sorry guys, this was a bit of a rush job from me, don't have much time tonight but promised Karma, I'd fill in for someone tonight. I'll get the game notes up before game time.

Lol easy win. Warm-up to prepare us for our wins vs. Rockets and Spurs later on this week...

Nice preview Splitz as always.

Just a few predictions: Lebron sits out the 4th. Delonte has himself another 20 point game. Gibson finds his stroke again, for this game at least. Cavs fans get the chalupa they were denied this Sunday. Should be a runaway win, especially if our defense from Sunday carries over.

Your previews always seem the most well made to me. Great Job man!

I have a bad feeling about this one...:chuckles:

delonte is going to give OJ an absolute nightmare on both ends...welcome to the NBA rook.

Just some predictions...... OJ will have a good confidence game against Lebron. Lebron dominates the rook and shows him how its done. It will be close until the third quarter :chuckles:

Our goal should be to keep Lebron under 20 minutes like the Thunder game. Heck, Ben Wallace will need all the rest he can get with all the tough roadies coming up, we should sit him and start Hickson, get JJ some playing time with the regulars. It's a win-win, Ben gets rest and JJ gets some more playing time and confidence. Besides, could you imagine our starters when all 5 guys are potential scoring threats? Scary.

No way that would happen though, we are to "classy" to sit players against bad teams, otherwise we would have sat Z against the Clippers and played him against Orlando.

Blow out early, rest the starters. We're going to need them to be rested for the 4 games in 5 nights against good teams coming up (and all on the road).

Wont Gay guard LeBron?

Wont Gay guard LeBron?

One would think so, yes. There could be some situations where LeBron is on Mayo if Delonte has trouble with him, but hopefully that isn't needed.
