Game 6: PHI (0-4) @ CLE (4-1) Friday, 11/6/15

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Cavs are going to have a rude awakening when we play a real good team. We are fighting tooth and nail to beat the 76ers who have practically no one except for Oak and Nerlens.

The really upsetting thing to see is K-love has completely reverted to last year's role. Stand at the three point line and wait for a catch and shoot pass. Not once did the offense flow through him from the start last night. So much for Lebron blowing air up his ass in interviews.

This team is just going through the motions right now and that's perfectly normal. Onto the Pacers...

Going through the motions? Not sure where you saw that. They were playing hard, hard enough to have injury scares. Lebron, Mo.. Shit Delly got knocked into a new universe...

Looks like the Sixers have a couple good pieces in Noel and Oak. Stauskas and Cannon can be role players on a good team, and Covington was decent last year, so it's looking like they've got at least a few pieces. They certainly play hard, but at some point will need some vets in there, maybe next year they finally get Embiid, add whoever they draft (will need some wing help) let them grow up for a year and by the year after that, they can add some FAs in bonanza year 2, or take some vets with crappy but not inhibitory contracts and they're maybe a playoff team. That's best case scenario I can envision with "the process."

I was fortunate to attend my first game last night. I thought it was a matchup issue for KLove. Noel is a great defender. He wreaks havoc in the paint, so I think the game plan was to pull him outside.

I also agree with @Andrew, there were definitely stretches where they were totally going through the motions. At times they played hard, but instead of going for the jugular they took their foot off of the accelerator and let an awful team creep back in the game. Lastly, injury scares are no indication of level of play.

Interesting... So a guy running full force into the opposing team for a layup / dunk is not more likely to get injured than a guy jogging up not giving a shit and dribbling around players?

Who said anything remotely close to that?

I said that there were definitely stretches where they were totally going through the motions. That doesn't mean there weren't stretches where they played hard. I also said that injury scares are no indication of level of play...and they aren't. Look, they played harder in the Memphis game and they had no injury scares.

You said "Lastly, injury scares are no indication of level of play."

And my question to you is if a team is playing harder, eg: running down the court jumping into opposing players. next to a team not really giving a shit and standing at the three point line dribbling the ball and shooting a three. The first team is WAY MORE LIKELY to get injured. Hence the TEAM PLAYING AT A HIGHER LEVEL, IS MORE LIKELY TO HAVE INJURY SCARES. THEREFORE INJURY SCARES ARE MORE LIKELY IF YOU ARE PLAYING AT A HIGHER LEVEL.

Are injuries more likely to happen to a team playing harder? Sure. But, are they an indicator of who played harder in a game. Nope. If TeamA has 3 scares and TeamB has zero, you can't conclude that TeamA played harder for the full game.

In the context of this game, which this thread is about, you can't use 3 scares as proof that they weren't going through the motions for a large portion of the game...which is exactly what the coaches bitched about during films. Did they play hard at times? Sure. But, the players got roasted for coasting much of the game and playing down to the competition. The coaches agreed with @Andrew, not you. I'm sure most of the players did by the end of the film session too...
