Game 63 | Cleveland Cavaliers @ Charlotte Bobcats | March 7th, 2014 | 7:00 PM ET

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
The jefferson acquisition has made charlotte much better, and we should take notes. While thier guard numbers were better tonight, our guards are better. A heavy weight in the paint would put us in the top four in the least.

That said, until we manage a consistent defence we are not ready to be serious about the playoffs. We will go this year, but only to learn what it takes.

CHA is an ascending team. Unlike you, if I were in CHA, DC, or TOR right now, I for one WOULD be excited right now, because I would feel hope and see progress.

But hey, we still have Andy!

Charlotte is not an ascending team, their best player is 29. They are a crappy team that's going to make the playoffs this year because they are playing in the worst conference ever.

I don't see what Andy has to do with any of this. The Jazz were never going to give us Jefferson for Andy, and we were never going to trade Andy for a guy about to hit the free agent market.

I just don't understand how somebody can think that the Bobcats are in an enviable position. Neither of us are going anywhere soon.

2011-12 =won 7, loss 59 (lockout year) worst winning percentage in NBA history
2012-13 = 21-61
2013-14 = 29-33 after 62 games, (20 remaining) pretty solid 7th seed in EC playoffs.

CHA just defeated IND, one of their two most likely opponents (EC top two seeds) by more than 20 in their last game. An upset is not likely, but is not impossible. With MIA with maybe one more year in its current configuration, and IND likely plateaued, CHA has established a top 5 center-solid PG combo, a good set of role players, a top-of-the league defensive concept, and multiple first round picks in the upcoming draft. Oh, and they are owned by the best to ever play the game, who can come in and deliver a pep talk to the team prior to a game against CLE, who had designs on CHA's playoff position.

Yes, indeed; IMHO CHA is an ascending team. Needle seems to be pointing up!

As far as Varejao, I believe that he could have been a part of a package to acquire Jefferson at a point in time in which he would have still had more than one year on his contract and would have provided the opportunity to develop the CAVS team concept at a much faster rate. Of course who really knows, but after all UTA simply let Jefferson walk with no compensation whatsoever; they could at least be shaving an additional 5 mil off their cap by cutting Andy next year.

This scenario is in opposition to the tank philosophy which resulted in the opportunity to select Bennett, Porter or Noel number one in the 2013 draft. (not hating on my man Anthony, just saying!). I don't see how you don"t see that CHA is currently in a superior position relative to CLE. Not saying CLE cannot make strides in the offseason, but these teams appear to me to occupy different levels at the present time.

LOL I was watching the game on ballstreams just now, and with 11:18 left in the 2nd quarter, Zeller nailed Biyombo in the nuts. I am watching the Bobcats stream, and the camera switches to Biyombo as soon as he gets nailed. So Biyombo is on the ground and goes, "FUUUUUUUUUUCK" loudly and lengthily with the camera literally 2 feet from his face. :chuckles:

Btw, the two commentators for the Bobcats began talking about Kyrie and Dion's relationship at one point, saying something to the effect of how it was clearly evident that the two were/are "at each other's throats" despite the Cavs denying it. They were chuckling about how obvious it was that the two hate each other. What bullshit.

:chuckles: Michael Jordan being their owner is a positive?

The Bobcats improved from last year because they signed Al Jeff, that doesn't make them an ascending team though. How are they going to improve moving forward? To me, they look like they're about as good as they're gonna get.

Yeah, the Bobcats are better than us. Maybe they have a nice 2-3 year stretch as the new Hawks of the East, but in the end they're not really building anything. They're mediocre and we stink, I'd rather not be either our teams.

Mike Brown playing the "rotation" game. I was kind of dismayed to see Anthony Bennett not in the rotation again. Couple of those wide open outside shots that somehow ended up in the hands of Deng would have been great opportunities for AB. Don't know what the strategy was with the guards. Let Kyrie be the ballhandler. Jack and/or Delly should come off the bench for him. If not that, then Jack or Dion should be the off-ball guy. Whatever.

AB played 12 minutes, is not a better shooter than Deng right now and the one time I saw him get the ball while open he hesitated and blew it.

I have more faith in AB making an open jumper than Luol Deng.

Good effort.

Tanking and getting Brown fired.

If you weren't trusted, you'd come in a little shaky, too.
Edit : and your avatar freaks me out
