Game 65 | Cavs @ Suns | Mar.12th | 10:00 PM ET

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Whew. This offense looks especially bad when it's time to run the clock. I know that all offenses generally take a dive when they primary goal is to run the clock, but that was a dreadful last 4 trips down.

Goodness just secure the damn win. Please.

Nonsense. We need whatever it is Jack does on the floor.

It just boggles my mind that Dion and Jack have the same amount of points with Jack getting twice the minutes. We talk a lot about getting Bennett minutes but we need to set Dion free night in and night out.

Besides that, good win. Then again... we just had 4 (?) days off so we better come off fresh. I'm ready for another win streak.

huh

7 shots vs 11, 3 assist vs 1 1 TO vs 4

In general, we need a LOT less of Jack, and a LOT more of Dion. Not tonight though. Dion looked completely disinterested in the first half, and Jack actually looked like an NBA player today. MB's rotations were actually decent tonight.

Dion tends to struggle a lot more when Brown is fucking around his minutes. Despite that, in 4 games since coming back from his injury, his per 36 numbers are:

25.2 pts, 4.1 reb, 2.5 ast on 47.3% FG, 45.5% 3PT, 80% FT

The problem is, his dumbass coach is playing him 21.8 minutes per game during that stretch.

Dion was inconsistent tonight, maybe in part because of attitude, but also it doesn't seem like his knee is all there yet. He is fading even more than usual on some shots and isn't as quick, isn't jumping with the same power, and had some awkward attempts. Not really surprising but he just doesn't look like he did before the injury. I'm not excusing his laziness in the first half. He just looks like he has some way to come back. We may not see him really back until next season.

That said, his short effective spurts in the game were really timely and important for the Cavs tonight. Would of course like to seem him play more.

The ball movement at times in the first half and then, surprisingly, at times in the 4th quarter made the Cavs look quite competent at times. That was weird.

Sure, but that has nothing to do with TONIGHT. He played well for a 5 minute stretch, and fairly poorly for the rest. Whether you agree with the decision or not, the Cavs are still trying to get that last playoff spot, and MB made the right call for this particular game. And I think both Brown and Jack are terrible... just not tonight.

The "huh" comes from giving Dion the respect that he deserves from a talent perspective. He needs to feel the ups and downs and he needs to play within the flow of the game. He needs the leadership role desperately because his confidence rides or dies with the people around him and the experience will guide him to greater things because he's still very much immature. If you wanna ride with Jacks stats for one game... then God bless ya.

Then there's the fact that Jack is playing point with Kyrie at the 2 then you have yourself a little bit of conundrum. To allow Jack to "teach" Kyrie is ridiculous and I would much rather prefer an offense that suits Kyrie as a point guard rather than Jack teaching Kyrie as a point guard because anyone with two eyes can see Mike Brown is trying to prove just that.

If you want to live in lala land then we can argue this all night. The season itself proves the point (it's not even my point). This is kind of a cool win but it's not going to change the course of the season barring a miracle. It's still a loss in reality. We need Kyrie and Dion to play major minutes together whether Mike Brown can figure it out or not.

Great win... And for those of you complaining about Dion's "attitude" tonight (which I don't understand the criticism), he tweeted yesterday about it being the birthday of one of his friends who was killed. Maybe he was a little down emotionally?

I was asleep before the first quarter ended, but I will say I was wrong about this game, really though the Cavs would struggle in this one. I just have no idea what this team is going to do on any given night. They'll probably beat 3 or 4 playoff teams in a row and then lose to Orlando.
