Game #67 Thu. March 17 | Cavs @ Blazers | 10:00 ET

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
What a study in futility. One starter (Sessions) in double figures, the others got 2,4,5,7. That's 18 pts from 4 starters on 5 for 23 (22%!) shooting. That's just pitiful!

Samardo was 1-8, he played hard but he really struggled against the length. Sessions may have got 14pts on 4-8 but I think he's part of the reason the other starters had such a sh** game.

Byron Scott . . "we were so soft mentally"

I figured we would lose, but damn. It was damn near a repeat of the Laker's 50+ point blow out.

Hollins with the lock down defense at the top of the key on Fernandez! LOL

..... wondering what the refs are thinking each time Hollins starts whining to them about a foul call. Does this guy have any credibility at all, or is simply being a NBA player give you that cred? I have to believe the refs are thinking, "get out of my face please".

Umm, no. The other starters are why Sessions play has gone down lately..well basically since Jamison went down. For as much as I hate Jamison, he does space the floor, which for a guy like Sessions is huge. Sessions can beat almost any guard one on one to the rim..his finishing ability depends on how many bigs are still down there to defend the rim. Tonight, the Blazers bigs could care less than Hickson and Samuels were wide open 15 feet from the basket. They WANTED them to get the ball and miss.

The glaring thing about tonight was just how much bigger the Blazers were than us all over the floor. Batum has to be 6'9" and he was guarding our PG for parts of the game. Aldridge and Camby were towering over JJ and Samuels. Hell, Gerald Wallace is as big as JJ--and he is basically a SF. I really like the Blazers chances against the Lakers in the first round. The playoffs in the west in the first round are going to be tight. The Nuggets are balling as well, they are who I want to win the most--just want to see a team who's "superstar" had to leave win it all.

As for us, we really need a floor spacing big--that can defend...well, that and a million other things.

Of course if Sessions could actually shoot the damn ball......but who cares at this point.

I was there. Paid for this crap but since the Blazers scored over a 100 points, I got me a free Chalupa!!! Seeing them live really shows how crappy they really are. They do not move to open spaces on offense. They hesitate too often on shots when open and they are late in almost every defensive rotation. And no body says a damn thing out there to help each other out. It is simply amazing we have actually won 13 games. The Blazers on the other hand were constantly moving with a sense of urgency, they talked and yelled the entire game and they made the Cavs go into the spots the Cavs didn't want to go. I hope that Hollins is done with the Cavs his year. He is simply a waste. Eyenga started to play some good defense late in the game. I watched a pissed coach Scott yell something at him the first time he pulled him out and Eyenga looked like it was not a real nice choice of words. He may have trouble with English but whatever coach Scott yelled he understood. I like Harangody. He gets called for some fouls just because of his intensity but he hustles. I think Samuels will become a very good player later on but he needs to pass out more often because they just sit and wait for him to make a move and 2-3 guys will be over him knowing he does not pass it. Until he learns to pass the ball, he is not going to put up incredible numbers. It was just terrible to watch these guys.

Of course. If Sessions was the best PG in the history of the game, maybe, just maybe he could overcome playing with a 6'9" Center who is wildly inconsistent, an un-drafted rookie PF who is also undersized, a D league small forward and a 35 year old SG who really should not be on the floor. A smart D WILL pack the paint on this team and force us to shoot jumpers.
Sessions last 10 games he has shot worse---39.8%, 33.3% on threes, with 5 assists and 2.9 turnovers per game. 8 of the 10 are minus Jamison. The last 2 games Jamison played he shot right around 50%. It is not a coincidence.

Here is something to chew on, the Last 11 games for another PG: 39.4% FG, 25% on threes, 6 assists, 3.27 turnovers per game
His team has won 10 of those 11 games. People think he is the MVP. He can NOT shoot. The major difference at this point, his team has the best D in the league and he actually is playing with real live NBA players. And don't read this as I think Sessions is a top 5 PG in the league, I am using some of these numbers for perspective.

i was way to drunk to watch this yesterday. I turned it on once to check the score and they were getting blown out, hence i went back to drinking.

You're the king of these last 10 games statistics. Problem is, the entire season tells a bigger and more important story than a simple snap-shot of the data.

Part of that "best D in the league" thing happens to be the fact that Rose is actually playing decent defense this year. Ramon Sessions gives this team nada on that end, zip, nothing. So here we have a PG who can't shoot yet is a shoot first point guard AND is a TERRIBLE defender. Fantastic.
