Game 7 | Cleveland Cavaliers (3-3) @ Boston Celtics (3-4) | November 14th, 2014 | 7:30 PM ET

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
When is love going go get going offensively been a tough start

Love is a shooter. Shooters need to be in a good rhythm and take shots they like. Now, tonight he was just shooting poorly, but I have noticed that he gets few sets run for him and takes a lot of shots that bail out poor attempts at driving to the basket. There is nothing regular or consistent in the way he gets touches.

He needs to be a featured part of the offense and not the guy who gets the ball when someone runs into a brick wall or only when he is wide open.

The champ still has to lead the peasants to a W against celtics scrubs

Damn

And stop posting up Love, he's not that good at it.

This doesn't address any part of my post. What do the bulls have to do with us playing poorly against Boston? How does it have any relevance to us being encouraged with a result that misrepresents how we played, which was against a subpar team, that we beat by a single point?

I guess I wasn't really trying to address every aspect of your post. Usually I'M the one focusing on what is wrong with the team, even if they win, and I value what people are saying. My points were, I guess: 1) every team has issues; and 2) I would have been much more upset if we had lost the game - I don't feeling like looking this particular gift horse in the mouth. I appreciate the negative comments people are making - the team looked like ass for long stretches. But hey - we won.

Ive already seen enuff through 7 games to know we wont even crack the top half of the league defensively. Not with the players we have on the floor. Do you guys really think with better chemistry will make the jump? I just can't see it. Id even be willing to take Mcgee at this point its been so bad

Wow. After 7 games you can tell us that? Impressive. You should work at ESPN...

Is it just me or are people ignoring the fact that the Celtics are the second highest ppg in the league behind only Dallas. They average 106.6 ppg. That's a lot. Yes, they did go of on us for 3 quarters, but a lot of teams are going to do that because of the target we have on or backs. Cavs went on the road and won a game and in a few weeks it will just be another W.

If you don't think teams are giving us their best your wrong. Playing the Cavs isn't just another game is a way to make headlines.

Not sure how many times I have to say it. Relax everybody.

Celebrate the win, but you can't get too high or too low after every fucking game! There are 82 of these. You guys were worried about Andy and Kyrie making it through the season, but I'm afraid all of you guys are gonna pull something with all the worrying that's being done right now.

LeBron had 41 points, shot 59% and led the team in assists with 7 and people are still complaining about him. I watched LeBron religiously in Miami his last 3 years there. Here's the thing about his defense. If he's matched up with someone who cuts well or doesn't need the ball to score, he'll get roasted. He gets caught ball-watching all the time because he's trying to lurk in passing lanes. That was the case in Miami and it's the case now. If he's matched up with somebody who likes to dribble a lot or post up a lot(like Rondo tonight or Melo), you'll see LeBron's full repertoire on D. He's much better when he's guarding somebody he respects as a playmaker than Joe Schmo. That's not changing.

Not sure where Kyrie's hot streak came from. Those were not easy 3's. Well done Kyrie, well done.

For those of you worried about Mike Miller, it's not him, it's the scheme that doesn't know how to use him. Miller could barely walk in Miami because of his back yet he was still effective. Why? Spoelstra catered his offense around driving and kicking. Miller always had good wide open corner looks. Those looks are not a part of Blatt's offense, so Miller isn't getting his shots. Not sure the Cavs need him as much because their offense is already so good. Miami needed him because offense was hard to come by.

Things that do concern me and won't be easy fixes:

1. Dion in Blatt's doghouse. First Delly plays over him in the 4th and now a rookie. If that doesn't change before Delly gets back, Dion is going to say something to the media about it. You can guarantee that.
2. Wide open shots allowed. It looks to me like the Cavs are playing the same style of pick and roll D Miami played, but without the same athletes. That defense is predicated on forcing turnovers by making the offense panic. Not sure that type of D works with this set of players.
3. Joe Harris is getting too many minutes. I love Harris as a player, but this team needs Dion to play more. You can't rely on a rookie 2nd round pick come playoff time, especially when you are relegating a player much better than him to a bench role. Harris fits better than Miller in Blatt's scheme because he plays D, but there is no reason for him to be closing out games ahead of Dion. None. It's bad for team chemistry.

No reason to think he might have been resting dion, he was a game time decision because of the hard fall and Harris was good

And as for second round pick status

Parsons, Stephenson and Ginobili were all 2nd round picks, so it's not like he can't produce cause of his position.

Heck even if he starts he probably won't get more than 20-25 mpg

Just some thoughts:

1) Boston is not a great team but they are better than "horrendous" and "terrible" (two words I've read on here). They have an incredibly efficient offense led by one of the only true PGs left in the NBA. Do they need a go-to scorer? Absolutely. But they aren't terrible. We were bad defensively but Boston is not an easy win, especially in the Garden.

2) LBJ and Kyrie obviously won us this game but Joe Harris deserves credit. While LBJ was able to guard Rondo we needed him on Sullinger/Bradley more. Joe Harris was our only guard who could handle Rondo. I know everyone loves Dion, but I think Harris will quickly begin to eat up the former's minutes. Dion was terrible last night. He ruins the flow of the offense. He needs to learn he is not part of the "big three" and figure out his role. He is probably the fourth most talented player on this team, and you can make an argument for third, but his personality is getting in the way of him contributing.

3) Fans here must have forgot what "development" means. These first 15-25 games are going to be rough. It's very clear Miller does not know how to play in Blatt's system, Love is trying to be both a post player and three point shooter, Dion is struggling to find his place, Tristan is a rebounder who thinks he can play center, and the spacing is problematic to Andy, etc. A lot needs to be fixed but it will happen. All of my aforementioned criticisms are easily solvable. We just need to give this team time.

4) Our third real test of the year comes Wed against the Spurs. We beat Chicago and lost to Portland. This is a big game.
