Because not playing for a long time hurts your game shape. Especially the rhythm and chemistry between new teammates.
They gotta keep playing and practicing the sets, working out wrinkles and staying in game shape.
We are not the Spurs, where their three main guys are playing together for 15 years. This team has to play NBA basketball together and keep ironing out the wrinkles.

Indiana just got Paul George back. A healthy George makes Indiana arguably the 4th best team in the East, who'd at least have a puncher's chance of giving the Cavs a run. Giving a couple games to Boston all but guarantees that Indiana doesn't pass them for the 7th seed. It will then be between Boston or Brooklyn for our first round matchup, either being a better option than the streaking Pacers.

The remaining games are meaningless. So it may not help us but it doesn't hurt us, either. If you're concerned about what other teams are doing instead of resting and preparing for the playoffs, you probably shouldn't be watching these last games because the team is focused on resting and preparing.

I'm good with it. Vets got some burn, some like Miller even showed some life. No injuries to any rotation players.

BOS could still shit the bed against MIL or TOR but they have a good shot of holding on to the #7 seed if they can at least split those games.

Not much to take away from this game, I was pleasantly surprised with how spry and limber Marion looked out there and he will be needed in the playoffs. I knew to expect that from Miller from watching him over the years, this cat is going to have this type of game or even better once in the playoffs and the last time he did it was in a finals game.

Can't help but feel like we might as well have just rested LBJ if we were gonna throw the game by trying to get Kendrick Perkins to be our offensive engine in the fourth quarter, lol.

No big deal anyway. Wish I hadn't bothered to watch it though.

There is something to be said about keeping a team's rhythm going, trying to be clever and get other guys involved or rest starters isn't always necessarily the best move.
